I've met up with Sharkrider and we've been bounty hunting in a wing. It's great that when one of you gets interdicted, the other immediately drops out of supercruise to join in the fight.

 

We travelled to a RES for some rich pickings. Only one problem, it was pitch black and we couldn't see the asteroids. I survived with 26% hull integrity, Sharkrider decided to get a completely new ship

 

I'd come and join you if you promise not to blow up - in bound from my trip out got as far as DRYAA FLYUAE BA-A F96 before I got so bored I had to come back,  Just over 12kly away or about 7hours jumping at full pelt. So might be back by next weekend!

Decided to start exploring - about 200ly along a 1000ly trip (will be added too once I have made it "out there").

 

Any idea how many systems you need to make Elite? Might just keep going out there until I get enough for it before I come back in or I get bored of it.

A lot - are you doing it the OCD way (every single thing in a system)  or "Honk" and run?  Interesting objects under the galaxy plane about 15k to 18k towards the core. (and no "first discovered by"s)

Combination - running an advanced system scanner and a detailed surface scanner so if it doesn't seem like too much work to explore the system I will but there was one last night that the 2 suns were 374k ls apart so I certainly wasn't exploring the second sun!

it looks like in certain systems in Strong signal Sources (SSS) you may come across a Federal T9 with an escort (anaconda) - the pilot of the T9 starts to complain that he is suffering system failure. On scanning the T9 it has 1t of Unidentified Artifacts. It seems you can get them by either destroying the escort and the ship or waiting for the T9 systems to be compromised and dropped. The object degrades quickly in space and when scooped attacks your ship's systems. Many theories abound....

I started doing everything but as it takes 20-40mins to completely scan a system I'm down to detail scan only when I see something intereting  or have to stop for another reason. In the future I'm going to stick to the shorter runs out  as you can't change you mind quickly of you are 18kly out.

I did about 1400 systems to get to Pathfinder - but from what I've seen it's about 10,000. (but I think it based on what you find as well as the number of systems).  Found any Earth Like worlds yet?

I shall go looking, SSS though often have ten pirates that kill you! lol.. maybe ina  wing with Gilly!

Got killed this evening fighting at an RES. Shields down against an Anaconda and when he blew, he took me with him.

A fully kitted ASP. I tried the Fer De Lance but didn't like the position of the huge hardpoint. It sounded sweet though.

I've only got medium C2 Beams in there at the moment - It's the shields that make it special. 

ok... topped out at the best power unit! should be topping the other sections soon killing big ships at RES's is awesome!

Why do you think I didn't make it all the way to the core?

 

It can be very pretty out there:-

 

Tip for exploring :  Remember it takes longer to sell your data than it does to collect it.      So far I've been at it for 1hr 10m. It's even worse if you have some "First discoveries".
