A little help please

Featured Replies

Hello, I am Steve. I have recently got a fabia sdi 2003. Every time i shut the passenger door the central locking locks all doors. Even if the car is still running and there is a driver. Also, i left the keys in the ignition and not running, the car locked up, with the keys in it. Any advice would be great.

I suspect a problem with the microswitch in the door mechanism. It's a bugger to get to, I tried once and wished I hadn't.

Hopefully, someone will be able to tell you how to disconnect the other end of the relevant cable to test, if that's possible.

Also, can I suggest a slightly more informative thread title?

Before you go hunting for the microswitch it might be worth pulling back the rubber gator that goes from door to car. This has all the wiring running through it and has been known for wires to break and cause strange issues (might be worth checking drivers side too)

Ooh good point.

As soul snatcher24 said, the wiring is faulty. I had the same problem as yours.

I had this issue too, swapping the lock mech worked (didn't really look in to fixing the lock mech as I already had a spare).
