Definitely interested in AW QED - so many people have good things to say about it.

Good choice for end of summer - as I think AP Clarity is better for summer show n shine,

but not anywhere near as durable as QED from what I have read.

I wish I knew about Angelwax years ago - they are not too far from my old place in Scotland.

I could have been collecting supplies and orders on the way to work at the time!

Just got off the phone to AW, spoke to John this morning  (who has a thick Scottish accent; so thick I could barely understand him which is quite something that speaks to a lot of scottish folk) and Matthew this afternoon. Great lads, placed an order for Heaven for leather, Fast Foam, Revolution Iron Remover, QED and the Glide clay block. Did me a nice little discount and also are sending me a sample of their new wax named "Fifth Element" which is described as

'Blended from a complex recipe of four top end waxes plus a secret fifth element which Angelwax are keeping a secret this is a seriously high quality product and perfect for detailers of all skill levels.

Easy to apply

Goes a long long way

Extreme gloss and depth of colour

High durabilty 3-4 months'

Looking forward to trying it out! Matthew said it is a great wax which is useful as a topper over ceramic coatings in particular. At £20 for 30ml, I'm expecting good things, as that is on the pricey side. They are renowned for great value so it must have some expensive ingredients!

I'll keep you boys posted!

Oh ya bugger.....  "Fifth Element" is on my shopping list too!

Very interested in how you find this Neil.

I hope you get chance to try/review it sometime soon.

It received some great reviews on other forums.....

I couldn't believe my luck when Matthew said he'd throw a pot in for me! I am over the moon Ste! Really looking forward to giving it a whirl. I can't find any reviews on it though, do you have any links to one buddy?

I'm giving the Focus its winter prep at the end of Sept; I know it's a bit early but hey, It's just an excuse I give to the wife really. I'll get a layer or two on it and see how it goes. Very exciting!!!

Sounds good Neil.

One of the reviews was on the FB forums; the other was a magazine based review.

I'll have a look and see what I can find; but no promises.

But essentially - you know as an Angelwax fan - their gear is good - the "Fifth Element" seemingly is even better!

I'm sure it won't dissappoint! :sun:

I'm looking forward to trying more of their stuff out. Tried a bit already and nothing has let me down yet, apart from me letting the pot of Desireable get too hot; won't be making that mistake again!! I really fancy their new compounds too. They've been perfecting them for 2 years, they look promising from the early reports!

Very nice indeed Ben - top job.

I really like Adams QD. Finished my last bottle and testing out some options - but only because I enjoy testing products.

I would happily have Adam's QD on the detailing shelves at my place - no question.

Bust day detailing yesterday - did the R36 and also had a mate round with his car for some attention.

Currently he is awaiting his new Merc AMG C63 arriving - so selling this 57-plate Golf Gti.

I offered to help clean her up; quick polish and detail.... so he can get pictures for his advert to sell privately.

I don't really like red cars much - but it is a joy to polish and get immediate results!

Cheers gents. Its really due a polish, just waiting on some new pads for my rotary and then lay down my winter protection!

That was more or less the last of my adams and whilst i loved it, i do like trying new ones. Tempted by CG Speed Wipe or Synthetic Detailer.

Added the last of my adams to some FK 425 and Auto Perfection QD to see how that goes.

Ste - that golf came up a treat, looks a nice unmolested example?

Sounds good Ben - looking forward to some updates and reviews....

The Golf GTI is a working car and is showing signs of wear and tear.

100k miles - but only 2 owners. Mechanically sound but cosmetically poor.

I did the best I could for the pictures to advertise it. Needs an alloy refurb,

new centre caps; missing front GTI badge, re-paint on front bumper inserts and more.

If I get time i'll do a brief write-up perhaps...

Here's a quick couple of pic's of my yeti wearing its winter coat of 2 coats of honey wax topped with C2V3

Had to include a pic of my helper too :D

Hello, bit of a lightweight, but here's my 4 week old VRS. Meguiars Gold. Two bucket. Wonder Wheels and a jet wash. No wax. No polish. Just elbow grease. Looks great buddy. Thanks for sharing.

Don't see many with the silver wheels. Prefer them, looks really nice mate.

Lovely

....and in a great colour for the vRS!

Nice car wash too

You say, "No wax".....I recommend some before the winter kicks in and sealer on the alloys

Sure - depends on your budget and detailing regime perhaps.....

I'd would suggest FK1000P - should work well on that colour and can be used on alloys too.

£20 or less delivered and will last ages!

Collinite 845 is another really good winter wax, costs slightly less than FK1000p but can easily get 6 months out of a coat.

As a former grey car owner, I found that a base of sealant (Recommend anyone really but I favour Bilt Hamber Auto Balm)

This can then be topped with any wax of your choice and/or a QD of your choice

There are so many to choose from

Cheers guys. Really appreciate the advice / recommendations.
