Looks awesome boys!!! Class work!

Picked up the replacement Superb yeaterday and had the day off. So, washed, detarred and clay cloth'd using Iron X as lube, then a quick rotary polish using Lime Prime on a Yellow 3M pad (great combo by the way!). Sealed with Prima HydroMax (panels were too hot so it went a bit streaky) ready for a layer of Angelwax when a cooler day presebts itself.

Wheels were washed with Bilberry, detarred, Iron X'd and sealed with Art de Shine Repelcoat. Tyres treated with Valetpro Dionysus Trim Gel and exhausts polished with Autosol. 3 and a half hours later and we were all done!

still needs a full 2 stage polish, but that will have to wait. Looking decent for now though.

Looks good Neil

They sorted you out a new one very quickly!!

Nice one Neil, Prima products are very nice, shame they never really took off over here. Looking forward to the polishing thread ;)

Wow Neil!

If only the previous owner had taken half as much care... ;-)

She looks a beaut!!

Hey Neil - glad the insurance company sorted you out quick smart on the new Superb!

Nice detail to start with on the new ride. What's the spec on the new one then?

Good to see you posting buddy. Looking forward to more updates....

The insurance company were awesome mate. Big tick for Aviva.

It's the Elegance 4x4 model mate, so Sat Nav, full leather, manual. Drives really well. So I'm a happy bunny.

Thanks buddy. Been busy with work and getting the car sorted. Once I get this next bout of surgery out of the way I'll be back in the game (edit- HOPEFULLY!! haha). So frustrating!!

Good luck with the surgery Neil

Good good - very glad to hear it mate.

I'm sure Clarkey will help you out on the detailing if required. Failing that - any help in the interim - just give me a shout.

.... i would be more than happy to help out whilst you are going through surgery/recuperation, etc.

Clarkey owes me, he's got 3 coats of my Desireable on his Fabia!!! Haha.

She's still thinking about it!!!

I haven't been in touch with the guy about it yet until SWMBO has ruled, but once she has (as long as its a   lol) a cheeky offer will be winging its way forthwith!!

Now, for the most important question, apart from a day out in the sunny Lincs/Norfolk borders, how much extra is it gonna cost me to get the new car's body looking like the old one's...  ;)

Haha, keep me posted buddy. Love a V8!!

I did nothing that you couldn't do yourself Nik. Just look up a local detailer though and I'd imagine it would cost around the £100 mark.

Come on Nik.... go for it! You know you want to!!!

Some of the cars on your shortlist were very very tasty.

Looking forward to your decision.... or SWMBO's ruling on the outcome.... :p  ;)  :giggle:

Ah mate, you have no idea how much I want to go for it!! Its just typical how these things work - I've just spent £1.5k sorting the the Scooby out (mechanics for £1k and wheels/paintwork for £500) and still I can't get this V8 bug to leave me alone!!

I'm pretty certain it will only be the Volvo V8, and a second one has now popped up near me! And this one may be interested in a PX! Its fate!!

I'll keep you all posted, lol!

Interested a bit more on your thoughts with CG 50/50 Neil.... looks like a lovely finish there. :sun:

The black really had a deep gloss and wet look to it.

I had a play with a couple of waxes last night when detailing SWMBO's car.

It came up well..... I think anyways...

Some Definitive Pro Edition, topped with Show Edition.....

Wow mate!!! That is a cracking pcture! Crazy wet finish pal! Thanks for sharing. The definitive wax range is looking amazing pal, as is you skill with using it.

I actually started applying Angelwax Dark Angel, but due to the higher than acceptable panel temps I knocked it on the head after the roof.

When ease of use due to the ambient environment is the priority, I won't reach for anything else other than CG 50/50. So easy to apply and remove. It's texture means it will spread forever and it is so easy to remove. It really is an absolute pleasure to apply.

Looks wise, I actually prefer it on silver/lighter coloured cars. Now don't get me wrong, it definitely adds gloss to the paint, but doesn't give as wet a look as say BMD Sirius show wax, or even Angelwax Desireable. But after I popped a layer of Scholl Concepts SW40 on it, it really looked jaw dropping. And this is considering the only abrasive polish it  has seen is Dodo juice Lime Prime, the paint is far from perfect. Very swirly indeed. But Lime Prime did add a lot of gloss and darkened the paint somewhat, even if it does fling everywhere due to it's watery nature! Any advice on using lime prime would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the comments Neil - very much appreciated.

Panel temps over the last few weeks have been a nightmare on some tests I was working on;

found that I get the right amount of shade by 6pm on an evening - and last night was ideal.

The Definitive Wax products were curing perfectly.... and the results, speak for themselves.

I was using SWMBO's car as a test before starting on the .:R36 in readiness for DubFiction.

On the lime Prime comments - nothing worse than a slingy product.... not sure what to suggest, as I haven't used it mate.

Try less on the pad, softer pad, slower/manual spreading motion, then start working it with the machine and ramp up the speed from there?

I found that priming the pad with more than you want to use and then spinning it up to full speed away from the car gives less splatter when you use it on the car, then very small dots on the pad after that

As will all primers, DDLP is no exception..... no need to use anymore than speed 2 on the polisher..or less and a fine pad

B)  That looks amazing buddy. Is that wearing pro edition then show edition? I think Definitive is the way I'll go for my next expensive wax once I've got through my Desireable........ if I can wait! :D

Indeed it is matie!!

Actually - from what I know, don't go buying Show Edition just yet....

There was rumour of Show Edition V2 coming at some point - I need to chase up on that.

Allegedly re-blended to help improve application - but deliver the same gloss levels.

If anything - the best products from Definitive this year have been Cora and QD Pro.

I haven't been convinced that Pro Edition delivers enough over Cora, in all honesty.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up buddy.

I'll keep an eye out on FB!

Interesting on the Cora front. Great to know, and at £45, seems like a bargain over Pro Edition! Thanks for the info buddy.
