I'd love BT sport, but BT wont have cable in my area for another 7 months. Virgin will be 2 years, and judging by my 2 neighbours who have Sky, reception is very poor with them.

Yup, it's even more annoying that really, it's **** all to do with Marquez, he should be riding his own race and letting everyone else crack on with theirs

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else chuckle every time Marc falls off trying to stick with Vale?

  • WOW!!! Absolutely amazing race, and a battle we've all waited to see for so long.   What a brilliant race and a fitting tribute to #39    Lovely to see Valentino and Marc shake hands at last.   I

You get it with BT Broadband for free. Is that an option?

Moto GP was the ONLY reason I went to BT when we moved.  I ended up getting BT TV as well as otherwise I could watch the Moto GP and practice but not record it.  To be honest I am considering just watching the highlights on Channel 4 when the contract comes up for renewal.  Although I do get Eurosport as well which means I see the World Superbikes.

I preferred the Moto GP when the BBC had it as I think Steve parish and his Aussie sidekick were a better act than Huewen and his.  I also cannot stand the Irishman babbling his rubbish all the time.  Good side is Hodgson and Toseland add some knowledge and don't spout just for the sake of hearing their own voice.

Coverage isn't the best but there is a lot of it including all of the practice sessions and the qualifying so it does mean that you get to know what is going on throughout the weekend including a lot of other stuff about the riders and teams.

I'm not in the UK so I don't know if it works over there, but in the US all UK live sports TV can be picked up from Pakistan on fancystreems.com

What channel is Moto GP on this year? I don't have Sky so is my only option the official Moto GP channel? Can't even find a highlights show to watch. Any clues/links would be very much appreciated.

BT Sport (2 usually), mate.

Highlights on the following Monday at 20.00 on ITV4 if it helps

ITV 4 (Freeview24) the following night and repeated during the week.

Thanks, can't believe I missed it as we have BT Sport. Doh!

Pedrosa close to quitting due to medical issues.  He has decided on last-ditch arm surgery so will miss next two GP - who's gonna get a Repsol chance?

Oh! It's Aoyama.

I thought that an up and coming talent might get a go, but obviously not.

Mind you if it's anything like F1, I suppose Marquez would have a veto on anybody potentially quick coming into the team.

Not that he's got anything to be remotely scared of, but years ago Senna and Schumacher frequently had the pick of slow teammates and the veto of fast ones.

More often than not these days it is what sponsorship the rider can bring with them.  Could this be a return for Casey Stoner?  Personally I doubt it because if you have an almost cert for the title with one rider why would you want to challenge him with a second rider?  Honda want to have the top riders obviously but in Danny they knew he was always going to be the Bridesmaid.

Stoner is already supposed to be doing the Suzuka 8 hours his year, but why would he risk tarnishing his reputation by going up against Marquez?

At his peak Casey was similarly faster than Dani, but thats a few years back now with no racing to keep sharp.

Watched the full race replay on BT Sport this morning. Even though I knew the result it was still an excellent race!

I agree and to be honest I don't think he would come back and take him on.  I also am not sure that he could beat him either.  Marquez has not (as yet) shown any of the flakiness of Stoner and it will be interesting if any chinks in his armour appear over the next few races if the others can take it to him.  Interesting season ahead I think.

Mind you Stoner was the only one to do the biz on the Ducati and even Rossi who is a God couldn't.

That's a real shame as it was an awesome race right down the finish line, I really hope this is a taste of what the rest of the season will be like.

I don't ride motorbikes, so I don't quite understand this pumped up arm thing I've read about. Do Moto GP bikes not have served brakes or does that rob them of too much feel?

You're talking about Pedrosa? It's not just using the brakes. The forces acting upon their forearms due to acceleration, cornering and braking (g-forces, not using the lever) are mind-blowing. All week long too - not just the 45 minute race.

I am talking about Pedrosa. I thought \I had read it was the pumping of the arm on the Clutch and brake levers that caused the weird thing to happened to their forearms. It was great to see Rossi win again though :)

Who doesn't like seeing Rossi win?! Top bloke and a living legend. Can't help but feel Marquez isn't giving up just yet. He must sort out those starts though. Rossi v Marquez... A helping of Lorenzo... And a chlamydia sized dose of Ducati in the mix too. It's going to be a hell of a season.

I love those cameras on the back of the bikes that stay upright as they corner, gives you a real idea of how canted over they really are !!!! Astonishing

I still can't get used to those cameras, as you say they do a fantastic job showing just how ridiculously low they get the bikes and while I understand the physics it still looks wrong how much they tilt the bikes.

As mentioned above, motorbike riding is hugely physical as they mostly control the bike through the movement of their body and there's a lot of stress on their forearms particularly if the bike is suffering from chatter where there's more vibration coming through the front of the bike which Casey Stoner frequently complained about on the Honda.

No, just straight pressure on the lever. To be honest, once you are talking a motorsport vehicle, whether it be car or bike, the servo goes straight in the bin, so they can feel the brakes and control them much better, arm pump can sometimes be caused by the gyroscopic effect on the steering when cranked over at speed - stoner got it a lot on the Ducati, but I'm not sure that is Pedrosa's problem.
