MY16

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can help me,

Ordered an Octavia in April and my dealer still hasn't given me a build date, I recieved a text saying its been ordered and when I chased them again, I got told it hasn't been ordered as there was a change over from MY15 to MY16. I constantly chased them to find out if I have Park assist & ACC after about 3 weeks i got confirmation that I will be getting it on the car for free, went yesterday to the dealership to get an update on the car, got told there's no build week/delivery week for you, it hasn't gone into production.

also saw something about folding door mirrors, I went for an elegeance and got told it was standard on it, is it still standard on the SE-L? as i assume I've been upgraded to the new model.

Should it really be taking this long for them to provide a build week? anything else I can do?

@j1n20 It does take time to get a build week as I found out. Some people get quick turnaround while others take longer, not sure what drives turnaround time.

Folding mirrors are standard on the Elegance and I doubt that will change due to MY16/SE-L. As I repeatedly got told by the dealer and Skoda, the switch to MY16 means you will get the same or better than the MY15 that you ordered.

The exception to the above may be around MIB2 infotainment which is speculated to be in use in MY16 cars and may not have the CD player unit. But nobody seems to definitively have a clue on this.

Wait for one of us to take delivery of our MY16 cars in the next couple of weeks and we can confirm things for you. Mine's a 1.4Tsi SE-L hatch which I should receive in next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for that :)

sounds a bit odd on the build date, I ordered 8 May and got a build date of this week. That's for a 1.4 SEL

Some dealers (already) got a pre ordered buildslot , either from cancelled orders or due to precaclulated need.others dont. It also varies per option ,engine choosen and production assembly calander, due to stock and availability. DSG and sportseat option are for example options which moves your buildweek due to slim availability. Its all demand vs stock. A couple of months ago the panoroof caused delay due to massive ordening due to special prices (i.e 200 euro) in the netherlands.

I've read posts about people getting their cars in 8-10 weeks Factory ordered and others waiting as long as 12-18 weeks.

I also ordered mine before yours ,but no buildweek. Dealer told me because of dsg and sportseats causing 2-4 delay.

I ordered on Froday and have not had a build week yet. I have been told it will be a MY16 car and will take around 16 weeks for delivery

Hmmm.

I look to be in a lottery as to if I might get a MY16 or not.

I ordered an "in stock" vRS yesterday, currently sitting at Embden.

It has the "free" satnav option so was presumably built after that offer became available.

I am not concerned if it is or not TBH. But out of interest, other than the upgraded infotainment unit, are there any other changes on the MY16 vRS's ?

Small icon changes, so not much difference if there is no MIB2.

It's further up this thread! I posted a doc on the changes at the time for UK cars.

Thanks Iamholam

"On orders built from 25th may" Looks more likely I will have a MY15 then, no biggie I am not worried about smartlink, would have been nice to have a larger or higher res screen but I can live without :)

@iphonik4 its not infotainment ui changes that's being referred to here... Its the physical buttons in the cars ;-)

Although apparently there are some changes to infotainment as well apparently. Something about how eco friendly you are driving. Can't remember where I saw it heard this though :-S

Other than the speculative MIB2, EU6 engines is the major change for MY16.

@RB79

I thought that he means the UI icons :D actually he means those climatronic buttons. Thx guys. Some TSI engines were already EU6 in MY2015

In my case the 1.4TSI gets an extra 10PS power too although not sure whether that manifests as noticeably extra power.

I've only ever driven the 1.2TSI and concluded it was enough power for 60-70% of the time, but I could do with more power for better overtaking, uphill stretches and more comfortable motorway driving.

Chaps,

just had it confirmed that Irish MY16 VRS will be a 800x480 6.5" Bolero so I can only assume that it is standard across the board.

unless you have an amundsen (standard in the UK) in which case Skoda UK haven't got a clue. Cynical? Moi?

I have just placed an order speccing Smart Link and Smart Gate. I don't want to fork out the £1500 for the Columbus but presumably I can use the features with whatever ends up coming be it a Bolero or Amundsen? Surely they would accept the spec without whatever you need to use them.... ( that is of course rhetorical, knowing full well that of course they would). Dealing going to try and find out the position but all feels a bit hold your breath and hope!

read through the earlier part of this thread and you'll see we all think much as you say, surely they wouldn't? but then SUK seem insistent they really would sell smart link with a screen that can't use it (at least on apple)

SUK may very well be trying to shift already ordered MY15 / 15.5 stock, Ireland is such a small market by comparison that holding stock does not seem to be an option, particularly as we have so little pch here.

I ordered a DSG 1.6tdi with a reversing camera, don't know if that's causing the hold up.

Is it worth getting Smartgate/smart link?

Hi people, also just joined this forum.

I, read my new employer, just ordered the estate, read combi, Octavia for me 2 weeks ago. 2.0TDI, 6 speed. ... and there was this package with the Amundsen plus with DAB.

Now reading all this it makes me wonder if if I will get a MY16 model with the new Amundsen since it was a 'free package'.

I think mine will be delivered in August.

btw what is this ACC ?  I first thought it was Automatic Air Conditioning ... but that can't be right.
