Bored on Sunday....So decided to add a pinstripe...

Featured Replies

Well....I was back and forwards with this idea but a 'bargain bucket' offer at Norauto (like a French Halfords) led me to purchase a 10m x 3mm black pinstripe for 3 euros yesterday.

So what do you think? (Photos below).

Initial thought was I like it - it follows the swage line and breaks up the whiteness.

The good thing about this is that if I don't like it it's easy to remove :) The last time I did this was on a Mk1 escort in about 1978...

Thoughts ladies and gents?

Dave

I have always added a subtle 3mm or 5mm pinstripe, it adds that bid individuality to the car

Pretty sure you used the phrase 'chavved up' in another thread about sunroof functionality earlier... That's what this looks like to me. Chavved up. To anyone not familiar with the Superb, it could look like there are huge panel gaps on the front wing.

Still, it's your car & as you said, easy to remove. So long as you're happy, that's what matters.

Had not considered the 'panel gap' angle....but at the moment (a few hours in) I do like it. Be interesting to see where I am in a weeks time :)

I thought that it looks quite subtle against a white back ground.

I like it!

I like it. Wasn't expecting to, but I do. Love your wheels too!

Like it. Once did a red stripe on a green car and that looked good as well

Looks better than some Chavved up sticker of a stupid cat stuck on the fuel flap     :x

Looks quite smart [emoji1]. I'm curious to know what wheels are you running on? They look great.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for that. There is a link to a post I made on a thread below that details the wheels. They were fitted from new by a Swiss dealer (Embrack) who modified the car as it is from new (lowered, uprated springs and shocks, alloys etc.). They are Japanese rime apparently but can be sourced in the UK quite easily I believe.

All the best,

Dave

Nice buddy!

People say no to stripes but I like em myself,

Remove it before you sell it though as it does devalue the car believe it or not.

Cheers for the info. Will have to talk nicely with SWMBO [emoji26]

Now some PROPER pinstripes would be cool....

Love that skill.....maybe Skoda could introduce it as an option :)

I'd expect that that the pinstripe option added to a Rolls Royce costs more than the price of an entire car from Skoda

If Chip Foose ever wants to overhaul a Skoda, im up for it

I like it too goes well with the wheels and if you like it who cares what other people think. Would have to use white on mine as she is magic black and that may look silly.

I keep expecting to see Xhibit in the background :D   (Pimp my Ride reference)
