Are you going to repaint the car too? Green/black and white mayhaps? :p

Was planning on white to match the company buses, but actually I rather like it in that blue.

And it's cheaper! :)

Thanks for positive comments all, but lets remember I am new to this.

Not sure having a swarm of people turn up to watch me potter round and try to avoid crashing is going to make it very exciting viewing. :D

Limited by being a 2.0 NA.

No forced induction.

So depends on your pocket and enthusiasm. :D

I bet you've been looking at big cams and redline lifting etc :D

And then the next step up......

.........Golf R Yeti TT series :)

Fixed that for you....

Whether it's your first race or 100th race your friends will always be there to support you. You've helped a lot of people so watching you race is the least I can do to show my appreciation

Who me? :peek:

Good luck with the latest 'venture'... Needless to say I'm envious and wish I too had the disposable income to follow suit. :-)

Wrong

I had good reason for saying Golf R series

Richard will understand

:)

Mate, I wouldn't bother about power until you get settled.  Get the brakes, handling, reliability and (most of all) your race craft right.

Nothing is more annoying than having somebody pass you with big power & then balk you into the next corner because they don't know how to threshold brake or heel/toe.

It looks like a great car for the job.

I am using the car as it is and will make small changes as I go along.

The engines and gearboxes are quite cheap, so to upgrade I can build a second unit while I am already using the car.

Another thread to read, thanks Richard

The more I read your threads the more it makes me want another Kart, I'll let you explain it to SWMBO why her patios not getting finished just yet :bandit:

Team Fox Racing FTW

Further to this, Brad's said a fair bit of what I was going to. My other advice was going to be to get the driving position right for you (may need new seat and/or steering wheel) and do a race or two like that before even looking at anything else beyond adjusting built-in adjustable bits on the suspension.

Speaking of, change one thing at a time on the suspension (eg, if you change front damper bounce rates, don't change the RARB rate until you know what effect the damper change has had on handling).

Best of luck with it , sure it will be great fun

Good Luck Richard ;) #TeamFox

That was at the BritCar 24 hr at Silverstone ;)

Richard, i think you are living every petrol heads dream! High powered road/track cars and now race cars! Having been in the passanger seat i cant imagine its going to take you long to get up to speed! Looking forward to following this...

You've noticed? :D

You're own (share in) a racing team - nice

I sense a few holiday forms going in once you're up and running and I've still not seen the bloody Yeti  :)

Legendary stuff as always mate

I wondered how long something like this would take. I will be following this with interest. :)

I can see why the ST makes a really good base to start with. Even as a standard road car they are leagues ahead of everything else in its class.

One thing though, with a racing licence, will it affect your ability to do normal track days?

Only ones aimed at novices. :)

Does the racing series come to Knockhill ?

I'm sure we could get a Scottish Brisky contingent to come and cheer you on

Looking forward to reading about your exploits - Good Luck !
