If you don't mind me asking what spec have you gone for?

I went for - SEL Exec - 220 - DSG - Petrol Blue - £3,000.00 of extras.

Well latest update today and what a surprise the build week has gone back again - now week 10 (L&K TSI 220 Hatch 18").  I would say what a surprise, but sadly what I am coming to expect from this manufacturer - constant disappointment.....  Am beginning to wonder if it will ever be built and if so how much money I will have to waste on keeping a ten year old car on the road whilst doing so....  Starting to wish I had stayed with Ford.....

So I've got it, but can't drive it away as there's apparently a problem with the computer link between VW and the DVLA, so car can't be registered...

...but it would appear that MY16 spec has changed so I have front parking sensors. Don't know what else I might have.

Mine also has front sensors, assumed it was standard on SE Business?! Hope they get you on the road soon!

Front & rear sensors standard on SE Business.

Just spoke to dealer, delivery scheduled for Thursday this week.

Update 08 December still BW 05 Status 10

Update 15 December now BW 07 Status 10

Update 05 January still BW 07 Status 10

Update 11 January slipped to BW 08 Status 10

Update 18 January - back to BW 7 Status 10

Update 1st February - still BW 7 Status 10 - so build in 2 weeks time hopefully!

Dont know which goes up & down more --- the build week numbers at Skoda or the lifts in Harrods !

Ordered mine right at the end of December. Dealer gave me an estimated build week 5.

Dealer emailed today to let me know my car was built today - week 5

Should get it at the start of March-ish. Just in time for the new 16 plate.

Picked mine up this morning and though I've only done 20 miles so far am very pleased. Looking forward to the 55 mile drive to work tomorrow.

For reference, it's an S hatch 120 1.6tdi with a couple of extras. Ordered 12th October, built 5th January and arrived at dealer late last week. Will post pics when I can.

Just to add to the list, ordered mine (Leased Estate SE Business, Quartz Grey) on 7 September and told 10-12 weeks before receipt of the car.

Currently being told car is on a ship and should be with the dealer 15 or 19 Feb (beginning or end of week 24). While all very pleasant, proactive communication from the dealer's been terrible. I've had to do all the chasing, and every time they're able to tell me something new, it's been another delay.

Should I be asking about new plates? I was thinking that as it's leased there's not an issue.

As unlikely as it will be. If mine arrives before March 1st. I will be asking them to hold on for the new 16 plate.

I know what everyone says about the build year being the important bit etc. But it's the psychology of having a new car on a new plate. As soon as that next plate comes out, your car feels 'old', irrespective of its actual age.

I'd be ****ed having a brand new car a week or two before the new plates come out.

Ordered my Combi SEl 190 DSG 4X4 in Moon White with a few extras this weekend, provisional build date of week 15 (end of March), so hopefully be with me by the middle of April

My car is also on a ship at the moment and my dealer has said that they have to register the car within 10 days of them receiving it so if it arrives in the next couple of weeks I have to have a 65 plate, I cannot wait for a 16 plate.

Has anyone else come across this?

I am told it is something to do with Skoda price protection on orders.

My dealership were happy to wait. Once it arrives in the UK, the dealership then "requests" it to be sent to them. My dealership said they would simply wait a few months and then request it in time for a 16 plate. I cancelled that plan and picked it up on Saturday though lol couldn't wait!

Good job. It's not healthy for a car to be parked outside for months. And for the sake of a plate?!

I think you'll find that's more to do with them having to pay for it 10-days after it is delivered to them.

Just came back the the dealer and ordered a new Superb.

Superb L&K 190 4x4 DSG Quartz Grey with everything except Premium BT. We have an Octavia 3 now, going to be a nice upgrade:) Can't wait!

Expected delivery was may\june.

+1. I was told exactly the same thing by my dealer. 10 day grace period before Skoda want someone to actually pay for the car, be it VWFS, 3rd party finance co. or the owner in the event of a cash payment.

I thought that would be the reason but even though I offered to pay for it they were still suggesting there was a problem.

Anyway I will wait and see when it arrives, I may not need to have the argument.

The dealerships probably don't want cars hanging around unless strictly necessary either.

I don't think I've ever visited a dealership that hasn't been crammed with cars. This will only get worse when the emissions recall works kick off!

In that case theirs an awful lot of unhealthy cars around the world , mine included !

Popped into Carrs of Bridgwater earlier, requiring current lead times for benefit of our fleet manager. Currently for the model I am going to order (1.6 SEL Executive) it is 16 weeks.

Some L&K models are now 23 weeks.

Apparently Skoda were geared up for 200 Superbs a month (or week, can't remember) from UK, but current demand is 2,000.
