What did you do to your bike today?

Excellent choice mate you will not be disappointed ! They must be the most neutral turning tyre I've ever fitted. Nice tip into corners great grip right onto the edge. I'll fit them after I've burnt through the pr4 set.

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Washed it. For the first time in ages.

Why do you only spot the bits you've missed after you've put the hose away?

What were you doing missing bits to start with! ;):D

I dont need one as such mate.

I bought an 8 spoker rear wheel off a VFR750, then had it powdercoated and the front powdercoated to match.

So ive got the standard back wheel.. Just need a standard black front wheel to match, so i can flog the bike with those wheels on, and keep the ones ive done.

If that makes sense? Haha

Mainly washing the Yeti to get the winter muck off, so removing the summer muck off the bike in the cold was low priority

Gotcha, still looking for another ride ?

What's on your list of replacements ?

Sort of. If i really wanted something.. Id save up n get it, but i cant decide what i want. Theres nothing i reallyyy want.

Well, apart from a Multistrada, but theyre too much money n too much to service for me at the monent.

Short list is,

- a newer VFR

- k12s (or 13)

- Fazer 1000. But i cant decide on that either. Abit bland maybe.

That's a good top 3 mate. I've had a fazer thou and whilst it was a great bike it never really set my pants on fire. fairing was rubbish in the winter too.

My k13 impresses me every day I ride it. Nearly 180 bhp on tap plus comfort plus shaft drive plus abs plus traction control plus heated grips plus on the fly suspension adjustment plus great stability whilst still allowing knee down antics it just does everything for me.

It's very confidence inspiring this time of year commuting in wet, dark windy conditions.

ah have you. you didnt find it that interesting then? Thats whats concerning me abit. i havent actually ridden one, but they arent known for being interesting and exciting are they haha. but an detuned R1 engine in a bike that style does sound fun.

the K12 or K13 do seem brilliant bikes. Theres only 2 things that are putting me off a tad. Id probably be looking at one thats about 8/10 year old, or maybe abit less. Normally this isnt a problem, but with a BMW with such clever electronicals, could it end up costing me a fortune?

The other thing is the size.. it is a big bike, n im sure itd be great on big roads.. but whats it like throwing it around smaller tighter bends? does it really show its weight n bulkyness? or not so much so?

These might be really silly questions. i dno :D. i can really throw the VFR about abit though, as its not small, but its agile enough.

The fazer was bland for me, great engine but nowhere near as quick as the k13.

Electronics are pretty reliable to be honest but servicing ain't cheap with main dealers.

It's certainly heavy but is definitely flick able. I'm 6ft and pretty strong so don't really notice the weight. You definitely need to plan in advance but it's no worse than my previous blackbirds and fazer. The front end is properly confidence inspiring.

Need to get a ride dude !

Alright mate, yeah.

Might have a pannier rack or something. Ill have to work out what to do with it.

Ill be keeping the sat nav for my next bike, thats the only thing im sure about haha.

Do you have the little red infills to cover where the grab handles go when you take em off?

Only said it as a thought :) I've got a rack and givi top box but I'm going to get rid of it as I can't really see myself using it. No, I haven't got the covers, do they tidy it up well? Not even thought of taking them off.

Most don't seem to come with them. All the Vtecs came with them new (or should of done) but most seem to get lost or the previous owner holds onto them. So they're pretty rare.

When the grab handles come up, theirs just a rectangle left in the plastic, so the infills just click into it. look miles better i think. This has them in but its not the best pic....

Ill get a pic of mine tomorrow if you like.

PS: have you got the rear seat cover then?

Edited by fabiamk2SE

That looks awesome, mine has the rear seat cowl and that finishes it off nicely. I'll have to keep my eyes out for a set of those.

Still trying to upload a picture of my bike but it's constantly saying 'this upload failed'

Yeah they do finish it off. Keep an eye out, but they dont pop up often.. if i do get rid of this and decide i don't want another Viffer, ill keep hold of em for you. New owner will never know haha.

Its easier to upload to a site like Photobucket and then just copy the link over tbh

Hopefully this works...

This is my VFR before she had a little wash.

Edited by Fabia_19

This was the first day I got her, when she still had the rack on. After a bit of hassle with drilling out bolts that were corroded and wouldn't budge this was soon removed.

Baffled now.  So which is it before OR after the wash?

It's too early! Corrected post, can you see the picture okay?

Nah this isn't early!  Getting up to be at work for just after 4 is early!  Luckily I don't have to do it now but my body clock still gets me up before 7 every morning. Yep you have cracked the picture bit and I assume you used photobucket or something because when i do it the photo is only displayed as a thumbnail and you have to click on it to enlarge it.

You may have struggled to post it because the flie size was too big and if it was you can resize it with infranview which is free and a doddle to use.

Nice looking bike dude. Do like them in red.
