Columbus Sat Nav price differences?

Featured Replies

Just running through the Skoda configurator speccing up vRS Estate and an SE L Estate (to "prove" to the wife that the vRS is the logical choice) and noticed that the price for the Columbus Sat Nav unit differs by £550 between the vRS and the SE L?

SE L Coumbus Sat Nav = £1000

vRS Columbus Sat Nav = £1550

Am I missing something or does this seem a little underhanded?

IIRC Both cars have different standard headunits, so the cost to upgrade from each to the Columbus is different.

You could always ask for the SE L Columbus to be fitted to the VRS ? :D

Doesn'r the SE L have sat nav already?

Yup, the SE L has an Amundsen so will already have the GPS antenna and wiring for it. On the vRS the antenna and wiring will need adding, not sure it should cost £500 to do that though :/

The SEL already has an Amundsen nav which is a £550 upgrade over the standard fit Bolero in the VRS.

Personally I think that's the more sensible choice now the screen is much improved over the original Amundsen.

I think the Amundsen nav on the vRS is a £755 option.
