I used to have hub-centric spacers before when I had the factory rims, but not anymore since I got my aftermarket rims.

With the aftermarket rims the wider rim and offset combo make it sit almost the same as I had with the spacers.

Spacers:- 12mm front, 10mm rear

Rims:- Factory 19x8 ET44

Ah thanks mate. That’s massively helpful. Your car looks insane, I loved the original rims and how it sat before BUT those new rims just make it look hard as nails. 🤣 Great work. 👍🏼

Sorry have one more follow up on this thread and your car. I see that you have the light frames for the front fogs, how do these fit? Are they glued or do they have adhesive strips or do you need to drill any holes? I’m on the cusp of ordering some but want to be sure of what I’m getting myself into.

I’m sorting my spacers this Friday. 👍🏼

all good - no need to b sorry.  that's wat forums r for......to ask questions/help/opinions.

with regards to the foglight surrounds, i got mine from AliExpress.  they came with 3M tape pre-stuck, to stick on to the bumper.

in my case, the surrounds fit perfectly to the contour of the bumper, and stuck on well.  they've been on for 4+ years now and still holding strong.

having said that, i've heard plenty of others who have bought the Maxton version which was not a good fit because the curvature did not match the bumper, hence making it stick was a challenge.

show us pics once u have the spacers on 🙂

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve seen the AliExpress ones but can’t find an option that delivers to the UK. Was looking at the Maxton ones but now I’m not too sure.

With regard to spacers, I’ve taken a couple of “before” pics down the side of the car, so will take the same ones “after” and post on here. I’ve not gone mad, 11mm fronts and 13mm rears. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@JR RS okay here you go. I’m happy with the outcome, subtle enough not to “poke” but enough of a change to fill the arches.
I’ve done some “before” and “after”’s  IMG_6195.jpeg.af881dcbbc008956738f787b716cb4fe.jpegIMG_6196.jpeg.592c8666dcc4dcadcea6c56791a5cfab.jpegIMG_6197.png.9e07593557a07637089cdf82770f931b.pngIMG_6198.png.7a617a56ba53974a45f29585d9f19826.pngIMG_6199.png.77b85f4fb292c286e683c7b951912375.pngIMG_6200.png.6092ca3a1bdd55858e3006aa01accaa4.pngIMG_6201.png.96afe92d38c256be497f462a4eade452.pngIMG_6202.png.94c03a084199b69105e607ceeadb51c4.pngIMG_6203.png.c70ce244dcbdf3df2366807338a8767c.pngIMG_6205.png.de17b58a4c39ceceb2fc4a7b0c0e1d78.png

Apologies for low res images, but had to scale them down to meet the upload limit. 😩

in each aspect, the first image is Pre and the second image is Post.
does just enough for me for now.
think the impact would be greater if the ride height were dropped a little, but that’s another plan for another time. 🙂

@Skodev - that looks nice, subtle and not over the top.

Suits the car well.

Thanks pal. Yeah it’s pretty much the look I was hoping for. I’ll put a few better pictures on here when I’ve cleaned the car.
My brother put 20mm spacers all round on his S5 and he was laughing at my choice particularly the 11mm on the front, but I’m glad I stuck with my gut. He actually thinks my Superb now looks miles better now too. 👍🏼😬

It the consensus for spacers to have them staggered rear to front? Is 15MM Rear, 11mm Front?

13mm rear and 11mm front. 👍🏼

Where do you find such sizes, or are they custom made?

You get the idea, if you need to ask "why?" please see the front wheel.

Gotta wait till I can afford & sort some tyres now but they are nice & light at 8.8kg.

Was a toss up between the Matt Grey or Bronze so I decided I'd go "a bit different "this time.

Bronze it is.jpg

@Tankdave - those look nice, especially in Bronze.

Wat size specs r the rims?

JR SL-01 19x8.0 ET34

Went with a 10mm lower ET from stock.  I tested 13mm spacers & I thought the rears looked a little too far out for me, so I played it safe with a bit less.  I don't want to go out past my mudflaps either as it gets muddy where I live.

PS. The car is not lowered as such, just the factory 11mm for the L&K  (10mm for the adaptive dampers plus 1mm for it being a 280)

I work for PXC (formerly TalkTalk Business) and our offices used to be opposite Awesome, was always fun seeing what they were getting in on their Dyno :)

Thought I would make sure they fit OK, they do fit with loads of clearance and I also believe they are going to look rather nice
