VCDS options on Superb III

Yep, that's what I'm talking about. Skoda doesn't have it activated in Australia. When you push traffic it says  no messages and has tmc crossed out at the top. People have activated it by changing some code but I don't know where to find it.

I've followed the instructions to change the internal led colours but have run into some issues! I have a MY17 S3, so have 10 colours available by default.

I changed the first colour to new RGB values, and the colour has changed in the menu selector but the led colour is not changing..

Am i missing something? I've reset the Columbus with no luck.

Please show us wich adaption rules you changed?

you have to change like you can see in the atteched file

Hey guys, i need help with my MY2017.

The car is factory equipped with Traffic Signs Recognition, Blind Spot Detect. I've successfully added the lane assist,

but when i've tried to add the light assist, VCDS 17.1.1 did not recognize the long coding of "09-Cent. Elect".

Here is a quick scan of the central electronic module

Also the long coding of the A5 Camera module is completely different form the MY2016  cars.

I guest that we have to wait for a while in order to see the long coding of this part no: 5Q0 937 084 CG

Any suggestions ?

It does - I have both ;)

I seem to have the same issue as remix when looking at the module for coding light assist (auto high beam) - the long coding is just all zeros. (This is on a MY17 car using a Micro Can cable)

There is nothing bad. Just all MY2017 models have no codings, just adaptations.

Ah ok, thanks - that's good to know. So if I want to code high beam assist (light assist?) and lane assist on a MY17 (with halogens and sign recognition factory fitted), using a micro can cable, how would I go about doing that please? (I've some previous experience of VCDS but it was a while a go now!)

Ok, so I would like to do some adaptations on my MY17 car if possible (I haven't altered anything yet). But, I did an autoscan first and have noticed a number of faults - this is on a brand new vehicle - is this normal??

Ok, so I would like to do some adaptations on my MY17 car if possible (I haven't altered anything yet). But, I did an autoscan first and have noticed a number of faults - this is on a brand new vehicle - is this normal??

Your fault is right there. That should have been deactivated by the dealer before delivery. Go back, make him do the PDI properly and drink some of his coffee while he´s doing that :)

It is not necesssary that they haven't disabled transport mode. I already had such a trouble code with Octy 3.

Dealer just did not clear the codes after deactivation of transport mode.

So, my suggestion would be: clear the codes and then check if this transport mode active will come back. If not, everything is ok, if yes then Gaselles advice is in place ;).

Thanks for your help. I'm fairly sure transport mode is not actually active as the car is operating completely normally. What about the other fault codes in my original post - could that be the same thing?

Or could they just be showing because I'm using a micro can cable?

If I were to visit the dealer I'm not sure how I'd explain that I know there are faults showing, especially as there doesn't seem to be anything actually wrong with the car.

Just delete them, run a car a few days and check for codes again.

I am quite sure that they are not be worried. Were you playing with multiple locking/unlocking vehicle? This could be the code for the doors, the rest not sure.

Yes I think I'll try to clear them. I haven't changed anythinh via VCDS at all yet... But was hoping to activate light assist and lane assist. But as you can see the coding for module 09 cent elect was just all zeros.

All of the faults (except the HVAC one) were logged before I took delivery. I think the HVAC might be related to stop start and HVAC not turning on due to voltage too low.

The vast majority of changes under 09 are now done under Adaptations not the coding so it will make little difference.

Ok, thanks - I'm thinking I might wait a little while until there is some more documented guidance about doing this on a MY17 car, as it seems everything I can find must be for previous MY's requiring coding too. And then there is also the issue that my car has halogens so I'm sure that will mean the adaptations it needs are slightly different again. Unless anyone is able/willing to provide fairly step-by-step instructions on what needs to be done to activate lane assist & (halogen) high beam assist. A big ask though, I realise...!

Just follow for example this page. It's a compendium of knowledge from many sources. Maybe sometime it comes :)

https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=3AE6945C79E4C9E!6636&ithint=onenote%2c&app=OneNote&authkey=!ADQH2YqqqP0zcUU

you can read there, the light assist can be enabled in MY2017 as following:

STG 09

Zugriffsberechtigung: 31347

Anpassung

Fernlicht_assistent (vorher Assistenzlichtfunktionen)

Menuesteuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkseinstellung

auf "vorhanden" setzen

Menuesteuerung Fernlichtassistent

auf "vorhanden" setzen

Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung

auf "AFS: FLA: BCM-Fernlicht" setzen

STG A5

Codierung

Byte 21 Bit 5-7

Thanks - I haven't tried light assist yet but have surprised myself and managed to get lane assist working fully! Have been for a trial run and works very well.

Edit to add have also done light assist (but not yet tested). Only.bit unsure of is the following - would this be one of the other options for halogen lights, or is it the same:

Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung

auf "AFS: FLA: BCM-Fernlicht" setzen

Regarding high beam assist / light assist, has anyone been able to adjust the activation / deactivation speed thresholds? I've tried looking in A5 adaptations but can't see where it is?

So I think AFS refers to adaptive lighting (or active light assist) which, as my car had halogen headlights, it does not have. So, question is do I even need to do the final adaptation in stg 09, or do I need to do it but with a different option selected. Here's a screenshot I've found on the web (not my car). (I'll check mine again later).

This is the full list of options in module 9 under the adaptations for Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung for my car. Does anyone know which of these should be selected given I have the A5 lane assist camera, and want to activate automative high beam (FLA), BUT with halogen lights (ie. my lights obviously do not swivel which is what I understand AFS is).IMG_0673.JPG

Test them all, start with Basis:FLA.

I've found

IDE03638-ENG116676-static AFS light-Upper speed threshold

Set to 40 km/h

That's in adaptation of Address 09: Cent. Elect.

Try adaptation of Address 09: Cent. Elect.

and search for :

Capture.jpg

It looks like the 10 R, 10 B and 10 G values

Thankwe, but I'm fairly certain that is for the fog light cornering. I was looking to adjust the speed at which auto high beam starts to work - but I've read it can't be changed on MY17 cars. Anyway I still need to test if my auto high beam assist is working first.
