LoL he changed bulbs there :P the original is simply white LED not RGB. Also RGB has 3+ cables and the car has wired only 1 for white on the LEGS part so I sincerely doubt he went through trouble to rewire all bulbs + some how modify the computer to show RGB on floor too. However, it is possible.

Yes as far as i know, footwell lights are custom made. Its just SMD LEDS replaced from white to purple to match the purple from ambient lines.

I am more curious about 30colors tho

Me too! Would love to have more than 10 colors! Also I really wanted to make white but I can't find proper color code for 100% white. Sadly...  Oh I modified all colors using VCDS (ODB11 actually) and damnnn they're so much nicer now... The green is far better, red, violet, purple, all are more "vivid". I love them now. Before I modified colors I only liked "dark blue" and even that was bit meh. The new "light blue" i set is also soooo awesome... got to take some pics :D  The green I took yesterday for spring.

Um got to check I'm not sure if I can find it in ODB11 without connecting to car. Will do tomorrow.  The picture makes it few ticks too "light green". But its almost as on picture.
The cold white still doesn't look really "white" to me. Not sure just don't like it at all.

Actually its same way as Gizmo's Adaptations tried and tested, just with specific RGB values. Which are not 100% based on RGB though. It seems RGB controller for lights is not very accurate. But its still amazing that we're able to do so many different shades of colors. I'm really happy about that. In new A6 the RGB ambient lightning is like 860€ in Slovenia... Which is super crazy expensive. Even stupid expensive..

Talking about ambient lighting, is there a VCDS setting to keep the LED stripes at the same brightness (max) during day and night? No idea how other cars are set up but in my MY19, there is practically no ambient lighting at all till maybe 6pm, then it starts to gradually go up to max brightness which is where I've set it up. And being in Sweden it will only become worse :D Around June I'll probably be without ambient lighting for the entire day. There must be a way to change this behaviour?

I’m not sure they do dim down during daylight, it’s just they are not that bright anyway so you can barely see them.

hello everybody. i am looking for adpmap of ecu 09 and 17. I would like compare adpmap with another car (superb3 2016 with ambient lights and foot lights ) . Mentioned car have some problem after adaptation with unauthorized tool . After adaptation doesnt work right scroll button at steering wheel and also interior light at root doesnt lign on when doors are opened. Last problem is that foot lights are in default brightness 0 . When i change it via columbus menu, its working but after i leave a car and next day is again set up brightness at value 0. Can somebody help me with that ? maybe mentioned adpmap will fine for me

Haha its basically 0/255/0

Thanks @JackySi, I will give that a try later, the OE green is 58 245 / 4

What is your brighter red?

(mine is currently 255 / 0 / 0)

Actually thinking about it, 255 looks to be the brightest you can go so logically if you look how the numbers break down... Red, Green, Blue  it stands to reason for the 3 basic colours it would be:

OE red? (Mine only had 3?colours so it was coded)

Brightest red 255 / 0 / 0

OE green 58 / 245 / 4

Brightest green 0 / 255 / 0

OE blue  20 / 170 / 254

Brightrst blue 0 / 0 / 255

In essence if I understand RGB its just 3 small leds put together. So if you set red to 255 and rest to zero in my logic out of 3 leds the RED shines brightest. So its basically like 0-255 is 0-100% brightness set to various different colored LED's. That's how I'd do the controller if they don't well then I have no idea :D

This is so silly but so funny at the same time. Played around with the RGB values this afternoon and modified Red and Green in particular to only be 255 in their respective channel as the stock Red and Green included a bit of the other two colours as well, they are now proper vivid Red and Green (especially the Green is a big improvement, stock was a sorry sight). Tried the same with 100% Blue but it almost became dazzling so added a bit of Green back. I can now see the logic of "diluting" the standard colours with a bit of the other two, takes away some of the vividness but they are easier on the eye for some people.

One colour which I just couldn't manage is Yellow. According to RGB values it should be 255/255/0 but when I tried that it gave more like a faded tone closer to pale orange, just as bad as the stock one. Reduced the red to 120 and it looks better but still nothing like proper yellow. Anything we can do about it? Would like to set the basic colours as close as possible to reality.

Also, If you do change a colour completely, how do you change the colour of its label in the selection pane? Possible? Otherwise I'll just stick to modifying the colours I don't use, rather than changing them to something else.

I’m pretty sure there is no way to change the colour label.

Hmm, I wanted to think that the label colour is just another value stored somewhere. Well I can live with that I guess, the main colours are basically what I'm switching between and they are already improved. Apart from yellow which probably is hard to get right?

But since then I have been convinced that they don't dim and that it's just the external light that affects how they look!  Was I right all along in assuming they do dim based on external light?

Yes, it certainly reads that way to me from that (excellent) linked post.

I'm afraid I can't give that mod a try as I don't have the correct security code for module 17 for a MY19 car   When I enter "20103" it shows an error so I guess the code has been changed on the latest cars.

Furthermore, browsing the available adaptations I can't even find any of the ones mentioned in the link (X1,2,3,4,5), so they've either been renamed or moved elsewhere.

@newbie69 do you have the latest vcds lead as that might be the problem?

I use OBDEleven, and it's updated to its latest version as far as I can tell.

I've got the latest VCDS lead and I've found quite a few differences. I've not used VCDS since 2017 on my previous car but the MY19 Superb is certainly different!

Someone who is more familiar with VCDS than me might be able to shed more light on it though.
