The RAF should use his courses in Scotland as a bombing trading ground.

I'd much prefer it if they didn't thank you.  They should be removed from his control and put to much better use, i.e. returned to wilderness and SSSI's.

Agreed.  However, I think we should pay attention to what he says about Middle America.  I have friends in the US who voted for Trump.  Lovely folks but politically deluded - "But he's going to clear out the swamp!"  Indeed, it does cleared out and I could see their objections to Hillary Clinton but returning to your correct description of Trump, he was never the man to do it.

I regularly tell my several US friends that they've been sold a false dilemma.  There is no right and left in US politics, at least as we might know it on this side of the Atlantic.  In practice and calibrated in a global context, they only have right and ultra right.  That's before we get into calibrating on the Authoritarian vs. Libertarian axis.    Yet, one of my Trump voting friends said to me last year, "Denmark is a nice Democratic, Socialist country. I could live there."   I pointed out that I hoped we can achieve a similar state here in Scotland.

I'm not that far from the Danish Border and have a lifelong friend there.

They wouldn't take too kindly to a Republican/ Trump fan moving there.

Hard to imagine a Trump fan being a fan of democratic socialism.

Most Trump fans associate socialism with Hitler 🤣

While I can understand Trump not appealing to the sort of people who idly uhm and ahh over whether to buy a high end BMW or Jaguar, I can only assume an almost obscene degree of self-absorption for them not to understand Trump's appeal to the average person on an average wage. It's hard to take the Trump deranged left seriously, when they have absolutely nothing to say about the failures of the increasingly decrepit Joe Biden. The hilarious over-reaction to Trump by the affluent left provides strong vindication for Trump supporters, even when he fails to deliver.

If you're going to throw labels around, you need to at least define them.

With that in mind, I think anyone who is taxed at the higher UK rate of tax can reasonably be described as "affluent".

As for the difference between left and right, put crudely, the further left you go, the more government control appeals, the further right you go, the less government control appeals.

There's a reasonable description here, which you can agree or disagree with, but at least it provides a basis for comparison.

Trump has already been posting on social media asking his supporters for donations to help him pay this and the previous court order for damages to E Jean Carroll.

I'm not in the least bit surprised. It's the mark of a grifter - get other people to pay. Nigel Farage is another one who likes others to pay to keep him in the life to which he's accustomed.

Not sure about USian law but under UK law I think I could see a contempt of court case in his near future.

The Donald has had fines imposed on him for holding court officials in contempt and for treating courts with contempt and he has asked supporters to help pay for those.

He just keeps playing them long and it appears that fines are not paid, appeals are launched and he is beyond the law so far.

He might get his photo taken and spend time being questioned but has never yet had to take soap on a rope with him because he might get locked in for a night or 3.

He might just enjoy getting the bottom bunk and someone up top just weeing where they lay.

the worst part is the grifter will make money on it! because the easily manipulated gullible MAGAts will buy them, and his fraudulent NFT BS "you can get a piece of my arraignment suit, TnCs apply*

*the TnCs clearly state paying for it does not mean you will actually get it, or the Maralago party invitation...

The UK tax payers were supposed to have stopped contributing to his Golf Resorts / Hotels in the UK back in 2017, then with Covid he got financial support for Trump International and associated companies and still he can post losses and get tax breaks in the UK.

Just the usual pith take that neither the Westminster Government & the Scottish Government allows to go on with corporations.

He / they are employers, and tax payers and employees pay taxes, but really things are beyond a joke.

http://turnberry.co.uk/turnberry-at-war

@Lee  Turnberry has 2 x WW1 , WW2 bomber runways at the courses and across the road in the estate.

The Donald never did due-diligence when he bought the place and one runway could be used in the event of civil emergencies / war.

Re Trump Helicopters & guest transfers /private flight, Trump International gets to land helicopters just 100,s of yards from public roads and public access areas without proper emergency / fire fighting points yet when a hang glider buzzed him at the hotel entrance Police Scotland were right on the case.

Nothing ever happened about him pre President having the Trump Helicopter flying about for up to 45 minutes around the place to the annoyance of others  when he was due to visit and then he arrives in a convoy of cars and not by helicopter.

A quick reminder for the normal people on Briskoda not blinded by Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Trump has been convicted of a crime where the supposed victim of the crime denies being a victim.

Trump went to borrow money.

He was asked for his financial details and gave them, as he saw them.

It may come as a surprise to some on Briskoda, but New York banks don't actually lend millions of dollars secured on "Trust me, Bro!". So the banks performed their due diligence, decided he was good for the loan and was lent money at an agreed interest rate.

He repaid all the money and the interest.

Everyone involved in the process was happy, especially the supposed "victims", who testified in court that they were thrilled to have him as a client.

Then Letitia James was made Attorney General of New York in Jan 2019.

She took the opportunity to target the then President Trump.

Using the woke left's increasingly common practice of legislating that "The accusation is the evidence!", she leveraged a somewhat obscure law to attack Trump.

This whole fiasco is an example of so-called "lawfare", where people are persecuted through legal action, (or more often, through threat of legal action).

People (rightly) objecting to Alexei Navalny dying in a Russian jail are peculiarly content, gleeful even, with the death of Gonzalo Lira in a Ukrainian jail.

That is not a sign of healthy political discourse.

Persecuting political opponents used to only happen in countries with a poor democratic system.

Now it happens in the West.

We are heading down a dark road that leads to a very bad place.

I'll get my "I told you so!" in now so I can throw it back at you later.

What I find really alarming is that when I go to visit the American air force bases at Mildenhall and Lakenheath, that he has numerous supporters among the airmen based there 😲

I suspect they are falling for his MAGA message. He's cleverly exploiting the concerns of many (most?) Americans about security and (like many nations) their distrust of career politicians - IMHO he is behaving like one of the more dangerous religious cult leaders who can get their followers to do the craziest of things (like drink bleach to kill Covid, which he suggested in a White House briefing when President).

I'm kinda hoping Nikki Haley stands as an independent and splits the Rep vote. It's a long shot but that's what I'm hoping she does. If tRump gets back in things are gonna go south pretty quickly.
