I have retrofited dimming mirrors on my car. Actually there are two wires that run from mirror, through the door controller (just passing through the controller), door loom and to the rear view mirror. None of the wires is grounded (maybe inside rear view mirror?)

Thing with controllers from other cars is that it might not work correctly on auto lifting/lowering the window. Although they have same code on controller they have different code written on EEPROM. I have experienced this issue when retrofited folding mirrors on my car. I had two door controllers from a Golf but did not work auto window. I had to write EEPROM with code from Octavia.

bleahhh...not working because i have gen 2 on my car and cc controler are gen 3 and i fond sometging on  my gti.com and wiring inside door is different!

i moved all wires for gen 3 max from gen 2 min and this is the result...

 

 

one on one off...i can not set them to fold corectly....

I don't think there is an SGO available. Dealer tools will parameterise the EEPROM using an online connection but that may refuse give the incorrect part numbers.

 

Assuming it's just one mirror that's incorrectly folding, you could try flipping the wires on that side?

yes...with the wires from pin 14 and 15  reversed it is ok  but the windows opens 2 cm when i unlock the doors...because the controlers are from passat cc ...i gues i need another  controlers...if sgo it is not enough...

If you have ODIS-e you could do what I did. You can edit EEPROM controller one byte at a time with a correct code. Takes a lot of time and it is kinda risky too, one wrong byte and you can destroy the controller, or worse, maybe something else on your car. 

 

Not something I encouraged you to do but it worked for me.

If they are from a car with folding mirrors then they should work

Not sure a touran module will be plug and play. You'll probably find some of the motors work in the wrong direction and it may even refuse to learn the end stops.

 

Assuming it's identical hardware to an Octavia module, you can probably fix it by overwriting the EEPROM. Obviously you'll need specialist tools as VCDS can't do it :-)

Bought the AA and S modules as in the first post.

Got all the bits now so will havea go at fitting in the next couple of weeks.

Ok so one month on and a saturday afternoon i thought it was a good day to go about fitting these.

I couldnt have been more wrong.

 

The actual install of AA and S modules and the mirrors themselves went fine. 1 snapped clip on the tweeter cover but i'll live. Swapped the shells on my old mirrors to new

 

And then came the pain.....

 

I've ended up with:

 

• N/S mirror indicator not working
• N/S mirror not folding
• N/S and O/S rear doors not locking
• N/S and O/S rear door windows not working
• Total closure from keyfob not working
• Front driver window switches are reversed

 

Went to my mates garage for coding and this was what greeted me -

Hello. I already retroffited folding mirror with puddle lights for o2 facelift, everything works fine, only the puddle light from driver door doesnt work if the mirrors are folded. On the passager works. I have a friend who can edit eeprom but he dont know what need to modify.

Is there anyway to tell a power folding mirror with the motor from a non folding mirror without taking the shell off? Im sure I read somewhere about colour of wires at the plug but can't find it?!
