So I've purchased a 2.5" Turbo back decat Milltek exhaust for my VRS. Im hoping to achieve the owl noise that most people seem to get with the exhaust, is there any other mods needed to get this? I've seen a few standard cars with the same exhaust make this noise. cheers

My friends vrs with full miltek decat and s2000 air filter makes the noise constantly! Almost like a dump valve really.

I can't stand it either. Was following a black vrs before that had a straight through exhaust and didn't know how bad they sounded really.

Rally car from the inside = deafening tractor from the outside. It's just so sad and antisocial.

 

The only cars that actually sound good are engines with five or more cylinders and carefully designed sports exhausts that are only loud once the engine is really cooking, frankly the Italians do it best.

Can't say I noticed a difference but didn't really go over idle on the way home!

I got mine just for looks anyway really!

Can hear it on start up, the growl.

And to be fair you can't really hear it until you push on abit,(around 3k) which I think is wikid as it isn't "on" all the time.

And yes stevobeavo its decat.

Below 2.5k the turbo spooling is pretty noisy on part throttle and over powers over powers the exhaust Full throttle you'll get a sort of bellow.

I'm sure we'll get a few full throttle runs when I take you for a spin lol.

I'm still catted for now :P

Think I might keep the cat in so I don't get the wooosh helicopter noise on tick over....

Will see how things go with the milltek I suppose

Gutted tho not got my go pro for this weekend else we could've made some good videos.

I think I'm going to have to get a pipe with a sleeve to replace the cat and I can switch them back to cat if and when I choose!

Just a quick video i managed to get earlier. you can hear the little cooing noise. sounds lovely when driving. not too loud but gives a nice throaty nice when you open it up. sounds good on the launch control limiter aswell   :p 

I liked the dual mass flywheel chatter at the end when you switched it off :P

on a serious note that sounds nice, better than mine i imagine but ive kept my cat in place for now, doesnt sound like a tractor as much as my piper decat did
