Featured Replies

I am selling my DAB Columbus PN: 3T0035686H. It is HW : H21, with SW: 6270. 40GB SSD HARD DRIVE.

Manufacture date 20/01/2014

It has V12 Western Europe Maps on the HDD

It is a very nice unit, in excellent condition and has performed very well in our old Octavia. - Now purchased a Passat CC.

I used it with a window stick on DAB aerial and it was okay (doesn't come with it)

Will come with the GPS aerial as I just hid this behind the unit

Price is £550. LOWERED TO £500 LAST PRICE DROP - LOWERED TO £475

These are going for £700+ on eBay

Postage to the UK is £15 (next day delivery) or I can fit it in and code it in via VCDS for free if you can collect - I am in WF12

Did you already have a DAB aerial built in or are you selling it with the unit?  edit: sorry reread your post

Also, will this work in an Octavia with a Bolero without a new fascia?

The boleros are slightly wider so will need a new fascia?

However some boleros came in the same shape as the RCD510 so might fit too (its a 50/50) - post a pic of your bolero up and i will help!

Here you go.

Yes to confirm you will need a new fascia, you can buy them from the dealers / ebay, easily available

other than that, its plug and play with a dab aerial

Regards,

Just priced up the facia and aerial from the dealers and it's looking like it's going to be a bit too much in total for me at the moment, but if your open to offers in the future let me know. Cheers.

price lowered to £500

Small point, but I think it has a 30gb hard drive, not 40gb.

Hello, is the Columbus unit dab only?

It's AM / FM / DAB

A seemingly random question: what start up logo does it have?

Is it this one?

I can't get the image to embed - so click the 'my webspace' link and it'll download from my server and open in a new window. Sorry.

Still for sale, can negotiate with sensible offers

Ok so I am interested but just a few questions

Is that the latest map and h/ware version

And how much of a pita is it to update maps and software

Is a nav really worth it without maxidot ??

Thread tidied to keep on topic and relevant to the OP.

Obviously it's nice to see things on a maxidot but the 'next/info' screen can be shown as one of the split screens on the Columbus.

You shouldn't really need to update the firmware as it's quite new and the maps are straightforward to upgrade - basically just insert the disc and wait 45 minutes. HTH.

Edit: V13 is the latest version of the maps.

Adding extra info.

Thanks john999boy. V13 would just need installing onto the unit with a DVD (downloadable from the internet) and that is the latest maps installed. hardware is new too as its only from 2014, this can be updated but I don't think the changes are that noticeable.

My 2007 unit has just died or been confirmed dead the other day.

I hope to get my money back from a failed repair.

Will it work in a 2007 Octavia? I have heard rumors of battery drain?

Cheers

Russ

I am in Nottingham so only around 1.30 hour drive away.

If you already had a columbus in then no problems at all, straight fit plug and play, you will just need a DAB aerial

OK, I will get back to you.

I hope to collect the unit and my money next Friday.

I will PM you to see if you still have the unit.

Cheers

Russ
