I've not bought any for a while (Lagavulin) around £60 for the cheap stuff!

I stick to the Bushmills or a nice Calvados even a Plymouth gin, just for the

botanicals you understand.

I can remember a time when Lagavulin was actually pretty affordable - I guess that's the price of becoming popular. It is still a particularly nice malt though.

I'm slowly enjoying my way through a few bottles I received for Christmas and Birthday gifts.
This Tamdhu 12 is rather nice...

I've just opened another of my Birthday gift bottles - Tamnavulin Double Cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
It's a staple of UK supermarket shelves and is really rather pleasant on the nose and palate. Very enjoyable.
The double cask refers to initial maturation in American oak barrels before finishing in sherry casks.

I've just opened a bottle of Aberlour 12 year old, double cask matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks.
Very smooth and really enjoyable.

This unopened bottle of Cragganmore 12 year old has been sitting on my whisky shelf for a few years. I've finally got around to opening it and sampling it tonight.

Quite similar and yet also quite different to several other Speysides I've tried.

Fruit notes mixed with a Sherry influence and a definite hint of smoke. On the whole, a dram worth savouring.

I've tried a miniature of the Aberlour 10 year old to see how it compares to the 12 year old.

It's perfectly drinkable, but i prefer the 12.

Today is World Whisky Day - taking place every year on the third Saturday in May.  https://www.worldwhiskyday.com/

I'm feeling inclined to a Macallan tonight. I picked up this bottle of 12 year old triple cask matured when I visited the Macallan distillery last year.

What will you be enjoying...?

I had a special birthday recently and got a bottle of this as a present :)  it was pointed out I could have had bubble bath and flowers or a bottle of whisky. I think they made the right choice. I have plenty of bubble bath :D

Btw I am enjoying it

My first time trying an Ardbeg at the weekend - a miniature of the 10 year old.
I wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised.
