The battery as the new frontier

Is that Georgia University in America?

The Donald is cutting the EPA's budget he will cut all those Dudes looking at alternative fuels as well,

America has just discovered new Oil Supplies and they are going to use all them up, and if they have not enough they will take the oil from

all those enemies of their buddies in Saudi.

So forget batteries for a year or 4 in the Western World, or the USof A.

I have just been reading today's articles saying.

'30 Cities in the USA want to buy 10 Billion dollars worth of EV's to defy Trump.'

The Democrat state governors aren't going to cave in to an anti science bully, and the rebellion will be led by California.

Baiting a Zoe yesterday up the M40.

Some respect as it got up to 140 Kph (indicated) before giving up and was holding 130 for tens of miles!

EVs are getting there !

^^^^ what's not to like about a 'shaded' car park!

(one room in our house gets hotter and I suspect it's because it is the one NOT shaded by solar panels)

One of the huge benefits of such parking spaces is not only that you can charge your EV but that you can get a reserved parking space and/or you often get to park by the facility as the charge points are usually right next to the facility/complex to show off the green credentials of the establishment.  Triple benefit.

Today is the day in the UK when only pure Electric Vehicles that are bought new pay no Vehicle Excise Duty, VED ie road tax.

Everything else pays at least £130 per year and most £140 per year, rising with run away inflation perhaps.

Many cheaper cars effected but particularly those smaller engine turbo diesel and petrol models......(they would cost at least £1K more over the next 6 or 7 years).

Good, paying to have a vehicle on the road, taking up space while moving or parked at the road side. ie Road Tax again.

EV drivers will pay in the long run while saving the world as well, as they may have more than one vehicle or higher than minimum income.

In other words this is just another tax and nothing to do with being so called green.

We are considering (the inevitable) going to a distance driven based charging model with more tolling (eTag) of roads instead of the current fuel based revenue one.

Ive no problem with 'user pays'.
