Hi guys
I've decided to install a rear view camera in my Superb II estate. It's a 2012, 2,0 TDI 140 hp Elegance with Columbus.
And so the internet search begins....
Anyone got any experience with this product or company?

I'm thinking if this might be a good alternative to the models that require cutting in my car.

Or will I just have to pay up, get out my dremel, and get this one?

Really, nothing??

The wireless camera looks very interesting, I've not seen them before. It'll certainly be quicker and easier than running wires through the car, but to have the best chance of it working and not wasting time and money I'd stay with the OEM parts.

Not sure on the Superb but you need to be sure what type of input the head unit wants, some use comp video and are easy as most cameras output this but some are RGB and then would need a converter module.

As mentioned by jjc, the Columbus (RNS-510) only accepts an RGB input for the RVC.

This means for the cheaper one mentioned by the OP, you would need a composite to RGB converter. This is also likely to be the case for a wireless camera too.

The OEM version linked by the OP is a highline camera as the lines will move depending on steering wheel position. There are also lowline versions available which are cheaper and don't have the extra control module.

A genuine VW (golf or tiguan) lowline camera and all wiring can be had for £65 or so from aliexpress which is great value :)

Like the idea of the OE lowline unit which I found on aliexpress (thanks) but I can't work out where it'd fit on the S2?

Depends what you want to do, neither of the lowline kits I've seen will fit without modification but seem a better idea than converters. For my MK2 Octavia, I was able to fit the internals from a genuine camera inside a cheap Chinese boot handle which works very well.

This style need a square hole cutting along side the existing boot handle: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/OEM-Original-VW-Scirocco-RGB-Rear-View-Reversing-Camera-RCD510-RNS510/1577076925.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.54.czSTTG&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_8,searchweb201602_2_10037_10017_507_10032_401,searchweb201603_9&btsid=97fa346e-e4bf-47c1-a07c-7f8f8c823d4c

Hey guys,

I know it's an older topic but does somebody know, if the bigger handle can be used in case the car has electric tail gate?

thanks
