I am also looking to upgrade from the Swing radio in a MY14 Rapid, so keen to hear some advice for Ayoussef

Component Protection will likely scupper your efforts. The control boxes are tied to the car they were originally fitted to, and putting them in another vehicle will lock them and make them unusable. Main dealers may be able to carry out an upgrade and register a new unit for your car, but one which has been registered in another vehicle will be very tricky, and main dealers will unlikely be able to help.

Hello,

Does anyone know how this component protection works? Can it be passed with VCDS with some code change in car computer?

No, VCDS cannot "correct" Component Protection.
