HEX-V2 or OBDEleven for Skoda Superb

Featured Replies

Hey guys..

New to Skoda / VAG world.. just to do some basic tweaking as found in https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/380829-superb-mkiii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/

Can get OBDEleven for approx $100 AUD v/s HEX-V2 for approx $360..

Not sure which one to get?

Also is there any other car system of which codes will work in Superb MKIII MY17? Was reading somewhere https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/299424-octavia-iii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/ should work?

VCDS will do more (not everything can be done with OBDEleven) but obviously costs a lot more, the scans for fault codes will also be more comprehensive, I can see the benefit of having OBDEleven as you can use it on a mobile (which is partly why I bought my HEX-NET) but in reality the mobile apps are nowhere near as good to use as the full VCDS software.

Another thing to consider is VCP this is not as user friendly as VCDS however and also requires a yearly subscription for updates etc, but it can do slightly more than VCDS.

Thanks.. So VCDS is recommended over OBDEleven? I am guessing this one https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/

Just trying to figure out if paying $250 more is worth it..

That one will certainly cover your car (any any other VAG car)

Only you can decide if it’s worth the cost, depending on what you want activating it can pay for itself compared to speccing options from the factory.

OBDEleven will also require you to either buy credits or watch loads of adverts so you can turn on certain functions.

Are you anywhere near Sydney? as we have a member there with VCDS (or google VCDS owners Australia as there will be several who already own it (I know of a very experienced owner in Melbourne)

Hmm.. initially I had thought OBDEleven but then I bought an android device for it since I have iPhone.. now if I move VCDS way then will have to sell off the phone / dual boot my mac on windows and use HEX-V2..
