Engine Vibration

Featured Replies

Got an annoying engine vibration between 2200 revs and 2500 revs and can’t figure out what it is and it’s driving me mad

anyone had it before?  55 plate Fabia VRS

happens in every gear and has been happening for years now

clutch and DMF was replaced, drive shafts have been replaced

left engine mount seems tight haven’t checked any others

any other options?

Sounds like dog bone to me . Your gearbox mount the probable culprit

Out of interest, as I also have a vibration around 2200 on my Bora 130 ASZ engined car, would I have disturbed the dogbone mount when I was doing a drive shaft change (both sides) a month ago and the vibration dates from then? Jacked the car on the sills and used stands. Did the left one first and noted the vibration on the test drive. I had assumed the new shaft was faulty. Returned it for another new one. Made no difference.

I had this problem at the exact rpm as you after I replaced the drivers side driveshaft. Ive since put a cv joint on my original shaft and it's fixed the vibration. The aftermarket shafts are thinner than the original shafts so I assume they are not as well balanced

I had similar and it was the gearbox mount under the battery. Looked fine with a mirror and torch but upon removal it was gone.

I also changed the cv joints but that made no difference in mine.
