The Zoe certainly has more room and softer suspension than the e-Corsa & you do sit higher.

The Autoexpress reviewer is one that never bothered to answer in the Youtube comments if he checked the tyre pressures of that Media Car before commenting on the ride.

From the Youtube review i found the comment on discounting 'Sport Mode'  because it would impact on range very strange.

What does it matter if you are just out and about and doing nothing more than a 100 odd miles before charging again,

use the car as you can in Sport if you want and you will be getting further than if in a MINI Electric.

You do need to kick down in ECO to get 136ps because you are running with 80 ps or 110ps in Normal, Normal is what the WLTP is taken from.

(Use Eco or Normal or even Sport and B and you can get the range that is claimed from the WLTP with the Zoe but A/C will need to be off.)

I am curious as to what they think the tech is that is more advanced on the Zoe over the e-Corsa.

PS - Finally my own EV is First Registered today and getting a PDI.  Done plenty miles in various borrowed EV's including the Zoe and the latest Zoe's R135 rapid charge.

Happy with the choice i made of an EV warm hatch that was really not a neccesity.  Roof bars and bike carrier ordered which will reduce range, and more so with a bike on the roof

Just that the Zoe seems slightly more efficient in energy burn giving it about 20 miles or 10% or so range.  Battery tech similar as far as I can see.  I like the bigger boot and if the ride is more forgiving then that is good too.

Just want the good scrappage deals to add to the government subsidy.  Think I can get about £7k off

When they're sub £13k, I'll be interested enough to read it.  Never spent more than £13k on a brand new car yet.   Sub 30k is just not relevant to average people in a country where the mean

Actually i would need to be comparing them side by side on the same run and charging at Rapid Chargers and seeing what battery / charging tech actually is in comparison.  & you would need a Zoe that Rapid Charges at 50 & 100 kWh to do that.

Tech usually means stuff like Matrix Headlights, Lane Assist, Blind Spot warning and the Satnav type stuff.

1kwh taking a car 10 km is very efficient for current tech and weight etc.

Zoe will do 300 miles ie 500 km if one hypermiles.

Sounds like a great slow race if one had 10 hours to spare.  Could be down to the driver carefully playing with the controls.

65% of Battery capacity used starting with 98%  when charged at home (showed 45% left on car when charger plugged in)

Started as showing 180 miles range

(35 Miles driven before that went to 160 miles then 155 miles for a fair few miles)

so 120 miles of driving a circuit including Fettercairn to the Cairn O Mount & then Ballater, Braemar & A93 over Glenshee to Glen Isla & Kirriemuir is fine using a combination of ECO & Sport & B with AC on and 20*oC Temp.

4 hours driving (travelling) including a few picture stops and then 40 mins to charge and ready to go again.

(When i stopped to charge after 120 miles it showed 80 miles range.)

Now showing 180 mile range.

Free charging to bring back up to 98% in that 40 minutes.  Sadly the 50kWh charger 1/2 from home has been out of order for weeks now.

So basically much as in ICE Cars or Bikes but without the £20 or so usually for fuel.

I will try the InstaVolt charger that is nearest to me and that will be under a Fiver to charge i think.

* No trip to set on the car. WTF.

so a Garmin Watch is dead handy to look at miles and not the Milometer. Speedo dead on by GPS.*

0-30, 0-60 & 0-62 all nonsense from official figures and 0-70 or plus quite surprising.

Nice view, nice car and great running costs. ;)

What mi/kWh are you getting? The scaling is clearly designed for MPG and totally unreadable.

The driver display would drive me nuts though, no battery percentage display and thick side bezel.

EDIT.  That is pretty crap.  Not found yet what the 1 next to the range actually is for.  Read everything and tried everything.

The Side Bezel does have things that light up in them.

The Percentage Battery is Bottom Left next to the miles left and counting down to 0 miles in the red segment.

The Sat Nav does have a big Circle that shows how far you might be able to travel as a crow flies. LOL.

It showed mostly 4 or 4.1.   Best was 4.3.

Up the Cairn O Mount that climb had it at 3.1 & it lost 15 miles of range in 7 miles and than had gained 30 miles going down hill and keeping up with a BMW and some bikes.   In Sport the difference is lots and the B gains you charge by quite a bit.

Big downer is that there are no paddles for more re-gen as you need to use the brakes quite a bit.  Not going to be that good in the wet or cold.

In a car with a DSG the brakes hardly ever need touched if using the box for down shifts.

A Kia e-Niro can do better / safer 'spirited driving' because of the paddles IMO, but can not stick to a dry road as well or go round bends as neatly.

An e-Niro or e-Soul would be my choice to drive in winter out of the various EV's i have tried.

The Primacy 3 Tyres on the Kia's are pathetic IMO, and the Primacy 4 are fine in the dry on the e-Corsa but getting changed as no way will suit my use.  CrossClimates are going on.

Cracked it finally.

Right there at my left hand finger tips on the end of the stalk.  Various Choices and available for different drivers info / stats.

That will make a huge difference. On the e-208 there was too much going on for me and a Heads Up would be perfect.

I can cope with this though.

'My Vauxhall'  App all set up and on my phone now.

Also the SOS button in the car that has a call going to 999. Disabled that again incase of any grandchild or friend that might want to press that.

They can call Vauxhall Connect if they want to press that and chat about a Service Appointment or Breakdown / Recovery services.

What's the difference between 150 mi bottom left and 180 mi bottom right? I'm okay without percentage reading if one of those number is calculated based on constant (eg. car assumes 4 mi/kWh), not based on your previous driving (eg. tells you remaining range is 50 miles after going downhill, but in reality you only have 20 miles of up hill left)

Lesson learnt from driving any car is that never trust the remaining range guess-o-meter calculated based on your driving habits. It applies to all powertrains.

How responsive is the app?

The Nissan app is horrendously slow. It never shows up-to-date info, refresh takes minutes. I have given up using it. Instead I poll Nissan servers via my home automation system every hour. That'll teach them! 😈

Is the e-corsa a 200 mile range car in reasonable and considerate driving ?

@wyx087150 miles what it did yesterday, well 144. It had 6 miles when i collected it.

180 miles the range showing.

Doing 400 miles or so in the next 2 days so i will see how it does at NSL's / Average Speed Cameras as most of my route has them covering all the distance.

I have used the charging places already where i am going so know the alternatives if not available.

'Plug Share'  is hopeless i now know.

'Zap Map' OK'ish.

ChargePlace Scotland call handlers 'Not Fit For Purpose' In my limited experience of calling them.

'Polar Plus' just a total waste of space, not that they are taking up much space in Scotland other than at Asda and Hybrids plugged in at them for hours

@lol-lol Counting on a safe no worry 150 miles with Motorways, might be disappointed & go my preferred non Motorway routes, sometimes just as quick.

I got over 200 miles easy in the e-208's both on 195/16 tyres and 205's, but they were ridiculously over inflated as handed over.

That was around the Borders and North of England in good weather.

I really think the Peugeot & Vauxhall are running different software.

I will be doing some Draggy Times with my own car.  I never abuse 'demonstrators'..

100% battery showing 192 miles.

Boot is Compact & Bijou.

Honda e Advance now available on Motability.

Very high Advance Payment required.

Smart, Vauxhall, MG and Nissan must be doing Motability very good deals on some EV's.

Impressed to hear the Mini EV is turning in some low 6s in the 0-60.

Dealers desperate to get cars shifted.

Screenshot 2020-08-18 at 18.49.09.jpg

Those prices make the e-UP/Citigo-e/Mii seem very expensive.

The PSA Group have now a range of vehicles with the same batteries and motors and of various weights starting with the lightest being the e-Corsa on 16" wheels and 195/55 R 16 tyres.

There are heavier ones, taller ones, ones on bigger tyres and strangely the implausible / irregular range for them is pretty much all the same.

Sometime a group of 'Motoring Journalists' or Vlogers might get all the cars, the Corsa, 208, 2008, DS3 e-Tense, eC4 with a cheap / lighter on e and a top of the range heavier one and start the convoy off with all of them on 100% charge and see how far they go.

Head off in ECO with A/C off and  the car carrying 400 kg & on the return journey switch on the AC and run them in 'Normal' mode.

Hi George, amazingly low prices and it sounds like the cars are genuinely capable of over 200 miles without too much hassle.

I tried to find some locally in the midlands but on the auto-trader filters could not seem to filter down to Vauxhall, Brand New , electric cars cars and it was not giving me any result.  Have you got a method of  find these deals above then ????

@lol-lol  Autotrader and Corsa and electric.  I think there are around 50 advertised.  1 with 11kw onboard charger which I think is a mistake.   The 200 miles and plus.  Yes on good hilly back roads and even an average 50 mph.   Today I am charging ever 120 miles for about 15 minutes as pouring rain, motorway and AC needs to be on.     MG dealer is my local one that has been Renault and Nissan for years.  I have done 1,300 miles now 11 days and good fun but it would be a waste of time in winter with many bad set up charging places, mobile receptions and lack of toilets.

They seem to be closer to £26K in England, are you getting more subsidy in Scotland or something as it is Edinburgh etc dealers that are several K cheaper.  Worth collecting or getting delivered if we in England can get from Scotland.

I can see this coming similar post BREXIT where cars are thousands cheaper in Ireland to UK mainland !.

The winter performance sounds like it will be challenging.  Got winter tyres sorted out 185/195 s, even 15 inch rims ?

@lol-lolIjust spotted those cars advertised and not far from me.      They will have their demonstrators and showroom cars as Nd they are going to get these cars built over 6 months ago shifted.@lol-lol sorry rubbish phone reception here and charging ready for tomorrow.    I have CrossClimates in 17" ready to put on for all year but I will not be using this car to get anyplace in a hurry anytime in the coldest weather and no way will travel in snow with it away from home.

From the top video.

No idea where he is finding in 2020 a i3 BMW 170 or 184 bhp that has a WLTP or real world range greater than the e-Corsa / e-208

without it being a Range Extender one carrying a ICE and petrol.
