When comparing the VW e-Up!, SEAT Mii electric and the Skoda Citigo iV you need to look at the charging system and what is standard and what is the option like CCS. (Combined charging standard.) Or cheaper car with Type 2 only.

Then with the Servicing prices what are VW, Skoda or SEAT Main Dealerships quoting on each model.

With all of European manufacture shut down the MG might be the only choice.

When they're sub £13k, I'll be interested enough to read it.  Never spent more than £13k on a brand new car yet.   Sub 30k is just not relevant to average people in a country where the mean

Not really when there are EV's sitting now bunkered after coming off ships or at Dealerships waiting for them to reopen.

If there are MG's sitting in the UK awaiting people to buy / lease / get registered that is just as with some other brands.

If that is that so should be some cracking deals !

Still have many months on my octy pcp sadly.

Unless they do such a deal I can finish the pcp early.

With the grant down to £3,000 it will be interesting to see what happens with cars not yet registered but in the UK, and will the OTR or selling price be bumped up or the cars discounted.

Supply and demand will make the difference and maybe the lack of supply later this year will dictate and if the demand is there.

@lol-lol

I had not seen this vid.   Winter Pack.

A somewhat off report I thought.  First I thought he did not like it and then he said he said he thought is was the best of the cheaper EVs !

His comments on range I would take with a pinch of salt.

Over 250 miles who probably take some serious hypermiling.  200 miles even in the winter ! Not what most others I am hearing from a 50 KwH battery car.

Do like the GT lIne R135, needs a ludicrous mode to get it in to the sevens to 60 like the Corsa and 208 IMO.

A member posted a picture of the peeling paint on the edge of the Electric Charging area.

Best if checking out an e-Up!, Mii electric or Citigo iV to check in that area.

'Expert knowledge'  or lack of quite often...

'Which in theory is coming out this year'.  People have already got them.  Doh, Rory drove one!

Saying SEAT Mii electric seems like something Robert can just not have come out his mouth..

Robert Lllewellyn  & Rory Reid

really need to give things a bit more thought as shown in the bottom video.

Robert has such a VW thing that he can not be bothered to even look into the Skoda or SEAT versions of the same car.

Check out the available specs and prices that real people spending their money want to know.

Shame first launch version so expensive.

@lol-lol  If you are test driving a e-208 / e-Corsa or any of the smaller EV's remember and try with traction control off when there is a good grippy surface.

The reviewers never seem to bother to switch off TC, or certainly do not mention it when talking about it the cars performance then they might speak about them not feeling particularly quick or thrilling to drive.

They can be pretty thrilling when allowed to put all available power to the pretty rubbish tyres many are fitted with and that are aired up to give the cars a better range for reviewers.

Something that seems to not working when it come to the Mini electrics range. Maybe that is because they do keep trying out the performance.

  Looking forward to trying one.

Boxes are rubbish aero shapes.

Tadpole shape best but not so practical.

Still quite like on though as good battery and motor combo.

I looked at these recently, very expensive IMHO.

£3,500 deposit, 8,000 miles a year and 36 months payments of £527!

E Niro on the same basis came in at £444.

car headline price is less than £1,000 difference, the extra cost is down to much poorer residuals for the Soul.

sticking with the Skoda for now

I think one has to calculate a total cost of operation during the ownership period and therefore cost of running with probably the EV costing only about 1 pence per mile where as even the best ICE costs about 10 pence per mile for fuel/lube.

Therefore one needs a create finance deal like Renault's zero % or 2.9% HP/PCP ie the finance is costing you nothing or next to nothing.

The UK government dropping the EV grant by £500 was not helpful to the EV rollout and this especially hurts the more expensive long range EVs like the Kia 60 kWh models, Model 3 etc.

Lower or remove the VAT on these vehicles for private individuals instead on the EV grant IMO.

Any residuals on a KIA Soul are based on a guess as there is a demand for them new in the UK and none available for a long time to come.

So a finger in the air from the Finance Department and all that KIA UK get into the country will find a keeper.

Sometime HP is better than PCP when there is a worry about lack of firmness in the residuals values.

The Soul is only available in the UK in the "First Edition" variety and cheaper models should be along in the next few months.

Below deal does not sound great but at least a smaller deposit.  Shame there is no 48 or 60 months.

With finance being zero round the world there should be more 0% deals or lower finance ie 1.9% or so IMO.
