Coming upto 6 months since my car had its first service in Jan 2019 at 18,500 miles and the good news is it hasn't used any oil at all since going stage 2 last October. The last 4,689 miles has been achieved on 12 tanks (average 390 miles per tank) using 551.50 litres Shell V-Power Nitro+ which is 121.32 gallons giving an average of 38.65mpg.

Driven like I'd just stole it for 6680 miles since collecting on the 25th August 2017, debadged, tuningboxed, pedalboxed & air intaked.   Fuelly.com has its long term avg at 24.9mpg but,

Happy with the mileage on a long drive.  City will never be like this but good to know I only need one fill to get to New South Wales. 😄

Works out at 400 miles to the tank, entirely normal for these cars on a run

Oh. I can't read, missed the km. Yes agree - best I've had is around 430 miles.

All I know is I got 43.8mpg out of my 245 with ME driving it yesterday.. guessing adding miles to the car does help.. I'm on about 2700miles now lol did round trip of about 150miles yesterday. Trip was motorway/dual carridgeway about 90% of the trip. Cruise in use most of the way and Normal mode and Drive on the DSG.

Wow that's a long journey for your car. Did you pull over for a break halfway enroute or just think to hell with it let's do the 75 mile trip in one go?:tongueout:

hi all, sorry to change subject my have a quiery about the sat nav or the map in the 245.  Went on a trip to wales last week and was zooming in and out of the map.  Now the view is an odd one and I cant seem to reset it. It shows the arrow moving down and not up as it was.  I thought switching off the engine and on would sort it, nope.  ive been through all the settings and cant see anything.  looked in the manual, nowt.  Im sure im being a dumbass but can someone let me know how to reset the map please?

It's not something as simple as on your way to Wales you were travelling in a North West direction and on the way home you were travelling South East.:whew:

Less of the mate please, I hardly know you. Glad you didn't have to contend with flailing children's leg pressed into the back of your seat, that would do my head in.:wall:

Exactly and the point I was indirectly getting at hence the smiley i.e. the **** taking is on the mates level though it seems no? ;)

Agreed on the flailing legs

I was joking about the mate bit whilst ignoring the cheeky git bit. :D

Wow it’s getting all a bit exciting in here .......maybe a switch to a Fabia diesel would raise the blood pressure and heart rate even more .........it’s a (moderate) performance car and should be viewed as such , I absolutely love mine but fuel economy is and wasn’t the reason I bought one , it’s marginally better than the 911c4s it replaced , and a huge improvement in practicality and comfort if we want to be a bit dull about it .... now truth is it’s not far off from a-b i’m Very impressed.... a few laps of the ring will be the test .... if I get within 30 seconds it will be a win, but genuinely think it will be closer ....... unless it’s damp of course .... I want more tales of derringdo not how slowly you can drive .....lol

Managed 118mph on the back straight and 117mph on the pit straight at Donington yesterday for 9 laps of adrenaline if that counts. But I couldn't keep up with Mk1 Civic Type R's and even a new Black Civic Type R overtook me but I did have a couple of moments to curb my enthusiasm (think Vettel the Torpedo and Max in the kitty litter) but I managed to escape with only the pride dented and not the car fortunately.:whew:

Now that’s more like it.......

Thing with Donington is you can keep your foot in much more than you’d believe, such is the flow ...... I used to race bikes there a lot and once I’d followed a few quick boys round it all fell into place ...... but good to hear you get to cane it ........

Wife was filming while I tried not to exceed track limits. Like Vettel my skills were sadly lacking on when to brake and turn in as my previous cars couldn't get over 100 here. With the camber and altitude changes at Donington the ideal track car was the light Mk1 Civic Type R if lowered with stiff dampers and lightweight wheels and track tyres they performed really well on corner entry/exit speeds. Really surprised and shocked how much speed they could carry onto the pit straight. The edges of the PS4S tyres have melted with the heat I put through them. They even picked up other peoples rubber like a F1 tyre but on the upside the HEL brakelines and uprated brake fluid were faultless even after 9 hard laps. More track work requires lowering and stiffer dampers so coilovers seems the way to go like Tuner111 in Belguim. The Nurburbring in a standard 245 would feel very nervous and extremely scary because Donington is a tiny taste of what to expect in Germany.

Not sure whether any of you guys checked your oil temps yesterday but as I was travelling home and the outside temp hit 31.5C I checked my oil temp and it was holding steady at 102C. Think my uprated Airtec intercooler helps on track days and hot weather in this respect and doesn't seem to use any oil anymore which is a nice bonus long term.:emoticon-0157-sun:

Have you had the 24hour Alfa test drive yet?:)

Not yet, the dealers hadn't registered the car when it was first arranged via Alfa Romeo UK, today's rearranged drive was postponed due to me suffering from food poisoning.

I can't control my arse right now let alone a 510bhp RWD's arse so, we've yet again rearranged for 12/08 not great but, right now even leaving the house is a brave move. You ever seen the Arab's move around the desert from waterhole to waterhole well, that's me only, I'm crapper to crapper
