Not yet, the dealers hadn't registered the car when it was first arranged via Alfa Romeo UK, today's rearranged drive was postponed due to me suffering from food poisoning.

I can't control my arse right now let alone a 510bhp RWD's arse so, we've yet again rearranged for 12/08 not great but, right now even leaving the house is a brave move. You ever seen the Arab's move around the desert from waterhole to waterhole well, that's me only, I'm crapper to crapper

I sometimes get that joy when we visit family in Kenya feel your pain. Good luck on the 12th August.

If anyone can upload on here my slight off at Redgate has been posted on You Tube it lasts about 17 seconds and is simply entitled Trax Donington. When I tried to upload it here it exceeded the 10mb data maximum.:thumbup:To maintain momentum I changed from 3rd to 2nd and managed to drive out of the gravel trap and then shake out all the gravel. First time I have approached Redgate at 117mph so braked too late, ran wide and had to decide whether to clatter into a row of cones or miss them and drive into the gravel. I like my front bumper too much and the gravel rash on my alloys can be repaired.

The Formula One race in Germany reinforced my opinion of Pirelli tyres not working at all well in wet/damp conditions.

UK thing...and you haven't been able to order a 245 since last year. A few MY18 UK orders are still to be delivered. Some have taken six months.

Ordered mine on the 11th May 2019. Due for delivery in early September. But I think I was one of the last!

You're responding to a post from 15 months ago which is referring to the 'launch edition' 245, not the current standard vRS which is what you'll have ordered.

The launch edition was only available to order for about 6 months in the second half of 2017.

Correct available to order from May to November 2017. Although some orders took 7 months to be delivered.

Only got 43.6mpg on the 26 mile commute today. Still better than the 42.8mpg Skoda claim.:thumbup:Mileage now 23,940.

So what was the available to period for the MY19 245 in the UK?  Was it much longer than the MY18 (May 2017-Nov 2107 as previously stated). Are we expecting any further availability of the Mk3 FL VRS?

I would think production of the basic Mk4 Octavia's must be starting soon after the summer break but no idea when the Vrs model will reach production. If it is shown at a Motorshow in September it may be available as early as next spring, but if it is not displayed until Geneva next March then more likely orders taken from May 2020.:talking:

They're still taking a few orders by the look of things for the standard vRS, though strictly speaking due to production year cycles they're MY20 cars, though with no significant spec change from MY19 cars.

Factory shuts down for holidays and retooling 2nd half of August. That is it then for MY20.

Every 6 months I change the colour of the ambient lighting on the doors and screens, so this time it's blue and I quite like it.

Well that can't be right as I'm soon ordering and they can't build mine in a week!

Mr Ree. Clearly someone is being fed wrong information then! I have sources you have yours! Go ahead and order and see what happens is the only way to know that what you are being fed is correct. I will be more than happy to be corrected.

If enough orders are placed for the run-out Challenge models maybe Skoda will continue building them until the demand subsides. The 2017 Limited Edition was only on sale for 6 months but cars were still being delivered 7/8 months after the order book closed.;)

Pretty sure the MY18 245 was on sale elsewhere in the world after the 6 months order window in the UK.

Are we absolutely sure the Mk4 is going into production in a few weeks time?  Wouldn't people be ordering them by now and wouldn't there be an O4 section on Briskoda?

I don't think we'll see the O4 on sale til 2020, but happy to admit I'm wrong if anyone has solid info to share.

Hate is a strong word I would prefer if you just dislike them instead. You have to be a member of the 330+bhp club to qualify for installation so HS17 NFU is sadly lacking in the pony count. Bonnet stripes should only be allowed on V8 Mustangs rather than the Ecoboost 2.3 versions which now have less than 300bhp after Ford de-tuned them. Did see a funny sight on the motorway the other day a white Kia Picanto with full black racing stripe from bonnet, over the roof and down the back of the car. All 67bhp available to impress the boy racers of this world.:tongueout:

MISSING WORD

I thought it was duct tape to help hold the bonnet down at increased speeds.

Actually because I use the M1 a great deal on my commute many speeding motorists were braking harshly thinking my car was an undercover Police Car so I thought I would help these poor souls by making it clear I am not plod. Also helps me to find the car if NOAIM ever parks next to me in his Black 17 plate 245 I will instantly know the slow one is the one with no duct tape on the bonnet.:tongueout:

I like the fact mine is viewed as a potential undercover cop car, I have seen some strange behaviour around me at times esp on the M3, cars which were catching me very quickly suddenly slow down and crawl past me for instance lol

This is because I'm always on my best behaviour with the family in the car and people think hmm its a 'fast' car travelling at legal speeds on the motorway.
