The two things i've really noticed over the few hundred miles are the mid range shove and the impact of the LSD.

It really pulls in the middle of the rev range which is fantastic. Also coming off a roundabout at a decent rate the other day, i was amazed at how the diff pulls the front of the car round.

Really enjoying the car, a fantastic all rounder. Moved house at the weekend and the hatch was full of stuff on quite a few occasions.

It would seem if you want INTERESTING displays you get the VC cos otherwise, Skoda have take it away

Excellent choice Sir, seems rather familiar ;)

Cat is out the bag next SEAT Leon Cupra hatch and ST estate will get the 245 engine in late 2020. This revealed in today's Auto Express by Cupra boss Wayne Griffiths.

That's odd, given that recent iterations of the Cupra have been 280 -> 290 -> 300, and have been what set the Cupra range apart from its VAG stable-mates. Seems a backward step by Seat?

I've not read the article, but any context of why they're going down that track?

Must be related to emissions and WLTP testing. The last 296bhp Cupra (300 model) puts out 165gm/co2 I think. Perhaps a hybrid will come along at some stage with similar power levels to the run out current models.

Maybe. But surely 165gm/co2 is "OK" isn't it? Seems low to me (but maybe I'm comparing to really old standards, and they need to get it waaaay lower now).

All European manufacturers have to lower their average co2 per vehicle to just 95 soon and as more people are buying petrol cars to replace diesels the average figure across Europe for new car emissions has risen for the last 2 years, rather than fall. The market conditions are making it extremely difficult to meet targets set by the EU.:blush

ah, i see, that's low! How on earth will some (more performance-orientated) manufacturers ever get anywhere near 95?!

This is why Porsche and Audi are so keen to launch electric models to lower the average for their performance models. BMW recently announced the petrol range extender engine in the i3 will no longer be available so that model has become zero emissions which helps all BMW's.

The new Golf R went down from 360 > 340 > and delivered with 300bhp

These new standards seem mighty tough to meet

I think you will find the Golf R dropped from 306bhp (310PS) to 296bhp (300PS). Due to the fitment of the GPF for WLTP reasons.

ah i know i had seen a 6 somewhere in the mix ;)

Stage 1 map takes them to about 370bhp due to their big turbo.

Well just returned from the very local Halfords with 5 litres of Mobil 1 to top up the car between services. They had 20% off some and nearly bought some 5W/30 but the guy on the checkout typed in my reg and turns out I needed the more expensive ESP stuff which has more additives due to the longer variable servicing intervals. So not quite the bargain I thought it was but compared to a 20 mile round trip to the dealer £48 per 5 litres not too bad (£9.60 per litre). I was paying £12 per litre for the Castrol Edge equivalent.

anyone know how to source used/new left and right rear mufflers? hopefully without the piping

 TIA

So halfords choose your oil based on reg number now lol thats a new on on me but thanks for the oil info - I probably should get a litre for topping up purposes

Over 3 months of waiting but my MY19 finally arrived and it's great :)

Sport mode is very eager and Comfort is nice for speed bumps.  So much room as well. Glad I went for adaptive cruise, DCC, winter pack and KESSY.  Just wish I'd gone for the Canton stereo as the sound quality is not very impressive.  I'm used to the Sony system in my old high spec Focus - didn't realise its sound was so good.

The other thing niggling me is the noise of the wind buffeting against the car which was really noticeable on a quiet motorway journey.  Sounds a bit like when you've accidentally left the window open a crack.  My other half was in the back dealing with the kid and she noticed it too; she even said her ears were ringing when she got home!  (mine are always ringing so I didn't realise :)).  I saw some other threads about this on various models but with different possible causes.  Anyone else had that?

Think the booming noise is worse on the estate. I have the hatch with the standard stereo and sounds fine in my car. Even have an aftermarket Milltek exhaust but no low frequency noise. Welcome to the forum.:)

Definitely not a quiet or refined car I'm afraid. Although I haven't noticed the buffeting noise you describe. Guessing the road noise I get from the 19s along with non-existent sound proofing drowns it out!

Looks great in blue. And I'm very jealous of the wheels.

Spring clean of the interior still looks like new after 20 months and 21,313 miles. Still love it. No oil used since last service in January.

I too notice the wind noise on the front windows and mirrors. Open the window a crack in the wet (so I can vape) and you quickly see all the rain and water on car being driven into the car. The aerodynamics is really forcing the air up and angled over windows, probably part helped by the heavily angled sides on bonnet.
