How long before those chrome exhaust tips turn to black and the wheels become larger, like your 230 special edition?

@shyVRS245    It's a better ride on the 18" wheels, no black tips.  I've gone for the " Sleeper " look

Been enjoying 225/40R18 tyres for the last 5 months and I know what you mean but more grip is just around the corner (sorry about the pun).:emoticon-0157-sun:

Get DCC, 19's runs just fine then

I tried 18's when I first got mine, it all felt vague & initial turn-in was very sloppy, not what you want on high speed corners

Has anybody found a neat way to install wireless phone charging?  I've had it in a Kodiaq for last couple of years and found it really handy - already missing it in the vRS just three days in.  Loving the car otherwise ;-)

Winter Dezent TDF alloys off, cleaned and stored. Still look good after 3 years and 5mm thread left so no problem getting through another winter. Summer RS6 replica's on so can enjoy the extra grip from the 235/35R19 Michelin PS4S tyres. Calipers cleaned and longer wheel bolts used due to the 8.5J width. Decals removed.:inlove:

Hi

I know there are lots of posts about re-mapping services and I have read a lot of them which has been useful.  I haven't seen mention though of JFA or J F Automotive in Kent.  They're reasonably local to me but as I haven't seen anything reported, I'm wondering if they are a good bet.   is what they said on price....  Our stage 1 engine tune, DSG and dyno package is £710.00 Inc Vat

Anybody have any experience of them?

Thanks in advance.

Tony

Are they fitted to a Scout?!

Suspension not settled down since dropped it off the 2 tonne trolley jack. Need to drive it but not going back to work until Wednesday so will have to keep admiring the off-road look.:giggle:

I did think that was the case but thought a daft comment was needed.

I hate the ride quality of my 245 'superleggera' and sometimes think Scout suspension and smaller wheels on it would make sense. I rarely chuck it about so would sacrifice handling for more refinement.

Been a nice change having the smaller wheels and balloon 225/40 tyres. Still averaged just under 39mpg as a bonus throughout the mild winter. Wider Michelin's are certainly noisier than the P Zero's that just came off.

Hi all,

I've posted in the Hello section but thought i'd post here to ask something.

Had a VRs 245 delivered last Thursday and really pleased with it. Great car all round, loads of space, plenty of poke and well put together.

My question is, i saw somewhere about performance gauges that were available on the main infotainment screen but can't find them in any menus for the life of me. Is this still something which is there on the MY19 VRs?

Thanks,

Tom

Press CAR first then Selection and finally Sport and gauges should appear as per my 17 plate 245.

Alternatively you can just keep hitting CAR and it'll scroll through the options in the selection menu - a bit less fiddly if you're on the move.

Thanks both, I'm not sure if it's been removed on the MY19 245 then because I only have the 4 options on the car menu: convenience, driving data, Drivegreen and vehicle status.

Also checked the spec for the challenge on the Skoda website and that shows the dash computer with lap timer as standard whereas the standard 245 doesn't mention lap timer.

Anyway, not really a big issue, just thought it strange that I couldn't see the option anywhere!

Skoda getting really mean saving all the good bits for the Special Editions.

The G meter is fun though, 1.17 so far is my best

Noticed the extra grip from the Michelins this morning. Went round 2 roundabouts in 5th gear rather than 4th with the P Zero's. Obviously can carry more speed into corners as well. Even managed a decent 41.7mpg despite the 14 roundabouts but they were more fun than the last 5 months.

In my experience 18" wheels improve the ride considerably (Even with DCC the 19s are pretty bad, as comfort just feels sloppy). I have Michelin Cross Climate+ on mine on 18s  with DCC set to standard  at the moment and seriously thinking about keeping them all year round.  19s might be a better drive on a racetrack or dead smooth roads but not for me.   I8s also give a tad more kerb protection when parking.

You could probably even go 17s but check brake clearance before buying any.

When I wear out my 18" tyres will probably get a set of 225/40 Cross Climates for winter. Have been impressed with the Michelin Primacy 3 in 215/50R18 size fitted to SWMBO Karoq. 14,000 miles so far and they are lasting well and offer good all round grip.

If you know someone with VCDS or ODBEleven they should be able to code it in easily for you

Hi

I've just picked up MY 245 from the dealers this afternoon, only done 8 miles in it so far but was a blast
