Hmmm.. Car a dream ..but stop /start refused to start the car:(..was only services last month..18,500km..wtf....Skoda assist to be fair were very helpful ..car has been towed and is at Main Dealer..but any known issues with these start stop ignition systems? ..towing lad said he has picked up a few other octavia and superbs with issues on stop start not working but couldn't answer what the issues ended up being....(thought mine may be a faulty starter motor)..Needles on dashdid a sweep when button was depressed it showed up errors all over and no sound from starter motor....I'm not really worried..but just a bit annoyed on a very low mileage Rs 245 having to be towed to main dealer..DSG box so couldn't try a push start :)..itll be grand...fingers and toes crossed.

well I've been well looked after by Skoda assist and am currntlyvdriving an octavia dsg diesel year 18..its fine...problem has been diagnosed as reverse polarity showing on their fault finding suggesting someone may have attempted a jump start....well I dont own leads and I rang skoda assist as soon as issue arose.....when tow truck arrived he said he'd picked up a few superbs and Octavia and a golf ..same issue..start stop just stops working..one minute fine then gone...a service manager mentioned to not give the car back to me cos the varta supplied batteries were causing this issue so I'm basically just stuck without my lovely vrs because they cannot source a btterry replacement to swap out! ud think they'd lift one out of a show room superb if it is the changed one....anyway I still have the rental until they sort out new battery and reset the ECU....oh the Joy's...I'm missing her 😞 need to get back on this mountain road asap..its a lovely spot ..overlooks most of our capital city and yet only 25mins drive to start off the adventure:)..now hopefully they'll have my battery and ECU done tomorrow(a bit worrying that one of the sales managers to know of a defective battery info on some skoda superbs and Octavia. so ud think they'd be swapping them out before they sho their true colours..zh well what did I really expect..at least the Skods Assistant part worked fine...I shall let you all k ow if I'm sort out out back into my momo:)

Hi all, sorry to ask from this query but thinking ahead.....   My lease expires next May (2020)  I am thinking of what to get next etc.  I looked and there is a new octavia coming out late 2019.

I also read that the new VRS wont be out at the same time?

It mentioned a year later, anyone confirm that?

Hi

Normally they just release the 'bread and butter' models, rep motors and family versions at the time of the new car, as these will be the biggest sellers, and the performance models follow some months later.

You might get lucky, will know I guess later down the road

Dec 16 the Mk3 fl vRS was available to order & late May 17 for the Mk3 fl 245 vRS so, that will give you a guide

Back off our hols and first time in the 245 for nearly 3 weeks but she purred into life first turn of the key (no easy to pinch KESSY for me). Boy have I missed the go kart handling and sweet steering after 30 minutes driving the wife's Karoq from Birmingham airport parking (APH Hams Hall great us usual). Was getting 44 mpg on the M1 until I opened the taps and had a bit of fun. Really looking forward to doing a few laps round Donington Park in 10 days time at Trax 2019. Free passenger ride for anyone who turns up before I take to the track at 15:20. SWMBO too scared to go out with me I wonder why?

i  did a remap with a better tuning company :D

Having been one of the first 245 owners in the UK my road tax reminder popped through the letterbox yesterday and the cheeky gits in Government have increased it to £145 for the third year. First year was £200 (probably £205 now) and second year was £140 and I can see it being raised at least £5 per year under this new system which was introduced in April 2017.
