They all have the important stuff to us petrol heads, namely the 242bhp engine, VAQ diff, vented big discs allround and the wider rear track and faster 2.1 turns lock to lock steering which make them unique amongst all Vrs versions so far. Collecting a baby brother 245 (maybe the only person in the UK to own 2 Vrs245's at the same time, always been greedy) on 30/08/19 with just 12 miles on the clock. Fairly basic spec compared to my stage 2 Black Magic 2017 model in Corrida Red hatch with DSG, spare wheel and 19"Extremes because I didn't choose the spec. Will have to get used to folding the mirrors in manually as well as moving the seat without electric assistance.:D

Very interesting can I ask why you'll have two? One a compo or something?

Ironic given the crap you and noaim gave my last year when I first joined this thread as one of the first non special ed 245 drivers ;) boggo 245s now outnumber the specials lol

The red DSG hatch new one will be my daily driver and wife will get a power upgrade from her 2018 Karoq (being traded in) with 148bhp to over 335bhp. She always waxes lyrical about my Black Octavia so doubt she will be too disappointed to find it is her new daily. Plenty of time to get the basic red one over 300bhp LOL.:tongueout:

I know the thread was originally started for those with "proper" (special) 245s, but from the recent comments it looks like you're letting "standard" newer ones in as well

Picked this up yesterday after saying goodbye to my Mk2 Blackline vRS.

From dealer stock, with just 140 miles on the clock when I got to it. (including my 12-mile test drive from last week

Petrol, Manual, Pretty much vanilla, except for the addition of a spare wheel.

(and yes, the parking is shocking :D )

(and yes, I wished they had cut those hedges a little bit lower to see the bridges better)

Ok fair enough.. DSG in red with a spare wheel but 19s.. the only difference to mine. 7 Speed DSG lol another ironic moment :) Anyway you'll see how crap the boggos are v soon then ;)

The seats are the stand out one, I don't think you could even option these on a normal one. Not the full alcantara, stitched logo, heated, memory, 4 way lumbar arrangement.

The performance screen on the infotainment too, can't even be easily added via VCDS at the moment

Pretty sure you could get the seats on the FL 230, but fair enough I've checked and you are correct on the latest "base" 245.

Irony not lost on me. Getting more hold ups on my motorway commute with plenty of accidents mainly on Friday evenings (everyone rushing home) so pumping the clutch pedal not much fun and having the extra gear will drop the revs and use less fuel at the sensible speeds I cruise at so hopefully get even more than the current 440 miles per tank. Recent puncture on the Karoq reinforced how important it is to have a spare wheel in both cars so that the wife can stay mobile which is vital in her job.

Picked up today!

You got similar in the PFL 'Limited Edition' 230 and you could spec upgraded seats in FL 230/245 but they weren't the same seats as those put in the limited cars AFAIK.

All the logic I used when choosing my first ever auto. So I usually use normal with DSG in sport around town, it responds way better to pulling away with smaller throttle openings, switching back to D for longer runs or if I want full slush low rev mode - throttle has delay/lack of input for me in D pulling away. I haven't found eco improved things so don't use it. I have individual configured as sport everything without the stupid fake noise and with lighter steering.

Yeah agree steering better in Normal rather than too heavy Sport setting. Everything suits me in Sport. Eco should be removed from petrol Vrs models IMHO.:D

The throttle lift coasting in Eco is very off putting to say the least

No PFL 230 had leather. I'm pretty certain the 245 Alcantara seats were available as an upgrade in the FL 230.   Anyway please stop calling it a limited edition. Its just a MY18 VRS 245.

So...... You do exist !

I wasn't sure if it was a tactic to make me sign there and then with their first offer "Someone else wants it if you don't"....."Don't tell Edinburgh that we're allowing you to go home and think about it..."

Apparently you appeared in the Edinburgh branch less than half an hour after I had called Dunfermline about getting to see it that afternoon.

Hope you enjoy the black one and hope you got a good deal.

One tip you'll find it more reluctant to use 7th unless ahem 'pressing on' if you leave it in sport but want it to use the overdrive 7th on the motorway for example. But you'll learn this one quickly, at more normal speeds its going to want to stay in 6th :) But you can fix that, the lever down DSG mode switching has become second nature to me now

It'll also jump up into 7th if you engage cruise control in Sport.

I'll give up my manual gear stick when you pry it from my cold dead hand.

I noted that one too :) But possibilities of using Cruise with it engaged for any length of reasonable time are more limited in the SE but possible

I tend to be more central south but the cruise has limited usefulness here too. May as well be an 'engage tailgater' button if you dare set it to anything slower than 20% above the speed limit 🙄

Can only agree, if I was buying my car and choosing options adaptive cruise would be one option I would tick it would just make it more real world for use in the traffic levels here in hampshire

Is it a Corsa ?

It can be anything you want it to be Andy. I know you are retired but you really should have gone to Specsavers if you can't recognise your own car. Do you rely on the wife to find it in the sea of grey cars parked in the Supermarket car park. Couple of stripes and I'm not going to try to open another Black Magic Octavia. Tom Hanks once uttered the immortal line "Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates" because he had a wet dream about a special Vrs called Darth. Talking Corsa's did you know that the Vauxhall Nova couldn't be sold in Spain because Nova is a naughty word. I will let you google that one.

For anyone that's still interested the Configurator, price lists, etc. have now been updated to August and MY 20.
