rear centre seat belt

Featured Replies

MOT due in a couple of months and just realised the dog has chewed the centre seat belt, it is about 1cm across  :(

pretty sure it would fail?

it is the type that goes into the top of the seat.  Could I just remove it or swap for a lap belt to get it to pass?

cheers

more than likely would fail due to having a cut which is classed as seriously weakening it’s structure if i rememver correctly (haven’t mot’d for over a year)

if worst came to worst and you couldn’t get a replacement belt fitted, you could remove the rear seats altogether and then the seatbelts are no longer classed as seatbelts for the mot. You might end up with an advisory for no rear seats fitted but at least it’s a pass if you need to.
