Vrs tfsi, brake disc and pads.

Featured Replies

Hi guy's, I'm looking into swap the feont and rear disc / pad combo on my vrs before my road trip this summer. I've been searching around and I'm a bit lost...... I'm not to bothered about brake dust, I just want something that will work really well.

So I've been looking at mtecbrakes (not sure on what compounds to use) and/or ebc pads.

I'm looking for recommendations on combinations that people are using.

Many thanks Stuart.

I've just ordered Mtec drilled and grooved discs with the black protective coating and the mintex pads for my VRS Estate £200 all in including some free copper slip and delivery. They get good reviews on skoda groups on facebook.

It would be good on your thoughts on those once you have fitted them.

Thanks Stu

I'm a massive fan of Mintex's M1144 compound for fast road/light track use. They are a bit dusty, can squeak a bit but they will stop you and not fade, as long as you have good fluid. I would use them with cheap standard plain discs all round. A front set of M1144s in mk2 vRS is about £70 on eBay at the moment.

Brilliant, I'll read up on those pads. I take it mintex make rears in the same compound?.....

Thanks Stu
