Still no build week!

Featured Replies

Thanks @macbun I am on skoda chat now and they say i should be assigned a build week in the next few days, I knew that my particular config would be 23 weeks  and I accept that but not the "dunno" sort of attitude.....

    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

I've been told week 21 as well, after pushing my dealer to get more information, as I was getting fed up with the radio silence. Mine's a black 1.5 TSI DSG Edition.

Quote from Skoda Chat;

I've spoken with our Brand Support Team regarding your order and they have informed me that your Retailer  has potentially exceeded their order quota for this model at the moment, and will be able to put your order in with the Factory soon.

I would recommend that you speak with your Retailer, to discuss what options are available.

WTF! how is this my problem?

Because your order and contract is with your dealer, and not Skoda. Sounds like your dealer hasn’t been entirely honest with you.

I spoke to my dealer today and they said that Skoda had told them they (the dealer) had requested a build date for 30th July, however the factory is supposed to be shut for the whole of July....Why is buying a new car such a PITA.

I really want my new Kodiaq but at the moment I cold easily say sod it....

hang in there  roynhayley.

Try going into the Skoda dealer tomorrow  and speak to one of the managers there, see if they can sort something for you. They should be fighting  to keep your business,  and rem there are plenty of other Skoda  dealers  around.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... always always always get a print-out of the factory order confirmation from the dealer. It helps in two ways:

1) you know the dealer has actually placed the order with the factory.

2) you know the specification the dealer has actually ordered.

It's so much easier to rectify mistakes early in the process, and if your dealer won't give you a print-out of the factory order confirmation, then go find another dealer who will be transparent with you. There are plenty of good, honest dealers out there - as well as all the incompetent or worse.

Mine's moved forward to week 20, so 13 May - still unconfirmed though.

Sometimes it's not necessary?

My Kodiaq VRS has reached Skoda because I received a leather keyring through the post (had to sign for it FFS) from Skoda CZ thanking me for my order and telling me I was one of the first UK 100 orders for the model.  So no need for the dealer to tell me they'd placed the order.

There are, however, 44 (currently) used VRS's on AutoTrader so I'm guessing demonstrators?

I have had several conversations with the dealer and they and Skoda have given me  the same order number. I know that just because they haven't issued a build week doesn't mean that it may not all of a sudden turn up! I really fancy a MY 20 and a 69 plate. I suppose in the grand scheme of things the car will be built when it's built and I will be satisfied. However the car it replaces will need servicing and MOT at this rate

Orderdate: march 4

Buildweek: 20

Deliverydate: may 14

It seems that 1.5 TSI engine ones takes longer.

Well I was just teasing, this car is the second we ordered after the first one was damaged in transit. So they gave us priority on this order.

I’ve been told mine is on a ship. Looking at the shipping route i think it’s on the ship “Weser Highway” which is due to land in Grimsby today!

That sounds like good news. If you build week was only a week or two ago, it sounds like they’re getting moved on pretty quickly.

Build week was week 16 - so the week before Easter

So just about two weeks from build to shipping then?

For me, it looks that way. About 13 weeks from order to build. (ordered week 2/3) They are saying another 2-3 weeks before I will get the keys. Depends how long it sits at Grimsby. If it's on that ship, they'll be unloading it tonight/tomorrow. but they said it could sit at the port for a couple of weeks, or it could go straight out.

At the dealers now! Just needs paying for. So should have the keys next week hopefully

Good stuff  and congrats. Keep us updated on how it goes

Just had a call from my dealer telling me my Kodiaq VRS (ordered 28th March) has been built and will be here within 4-5 weeks and I can expect a June driveaway date

Great news that's really quick I bet you were expecting August/September at least. Just that long trip across the country to plan now.

Ridiculously quick!  Not just the long trip to think about, my Focus ST3 on PCP doesn't expire until August so I need to somehow come up with the £11k balloon payment to be able to sell it for around £15k (seems to be the going rate) and then use the £4k equity as my deposit.

Why did Skoda have to be so efficient, couldn't they have faffed about all summer and delivered in September?

Don't forget they are planning on closing the car factories for at least 3 weeks over the summer to give them time to start planning the MY20 updates. Good luck with the Focus sale sure it will get snapped up quickly, Fast Fords always in demand huge market for them.

Wow, that’s quick! I still haven’t got a build week and I ordered mine in a January. I’ve also got a focus I need to sell and it’s just sitting around losing value!!!!
