Still no build week!

Wow, that’s quick! I still haven’t got a build week and I ordered mine in a January. I’ve also got a focus I need to sell and it’s just sitting around losing value!!!!

Is your Kodiaq order for a VRS?

Just wondering whether different marques within the same brand get "priority" treatment at the factory.

Skoda's efficiency has actually caused me some financial logistical problems!  But, mustn't complain.

    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

Workers went on strike at a VW Group engine plant in Hungary and that has messed up productions.

Maybe no affect on Skoda, but VW Group / Skoda are not going to say.

When we ordered our Scout in 2015 we ticked of ALL the options and the seller said because of that we got a priority build date, never got this confirmed but maybe it is a thing.

I just nodded and thought that it was a seller trying to make me feel important.

Only 300 VRS units apparently being built for the UK market, maybe that has something to do with it?  Perhaps they want to free up that bit of the production line?

I really don't know apart from the fact that mine is going to be here three months earlier than I expected :o

No, just and SE with a bunch of options. Might well be that the order value has some bearing on the schedule!

I get the impression it’s engine availability and doing runs in the same model or colour.

mine was built the same week as a few on here with the 1.5 engine. Same colour too (petrol blue)

I ordered my Kodiaq  29/1-19. It is a L&K 2.0 (lavablue) and was told the buildweek will be around 23. My salesperson said that it was pending between 21-23.

Ordered an L&K just before Christmas, was informed this morning that's it's at the port in Germany now awaiting a ship to Grimsby.....

How long does it roughly take from this point any ideas??

It took my car about 3 weeks from build week to arriving at the dealers

My experience was 4 weeks from commencement of build

Build week 15 (w/c 8th April), arrived at Emden approx 1 week later, arrived Sheerness 23rd April (I was expecting it to go to Grimsby), arrived at dealer 10 days later on 3rd May.

When chasing progress on Skoda Chat , they said it could take up to 10 working days to clear each port and to chase the dealer for the transport from the port in the UK, however, I understand that the transport is organised by Skoda UK, not the dealer

Mine was built week 16 and arrived in Warrington UK on 1st May. So it was a quick turnaround.

Wow that was quick, I'm near Bury, can't wait to get mine!

Mine is enroute and should be with me end of May hopefully. Only been waiting since September! Thankfully, VW finance gave me a loan car since Feb so have been running around in Q5.

However, my car was built same week, but I don't even know if it is in the UK yet.  As I'm up in Scotland, it will be arriving in the UK at the Tyne port.

I'm told mine will come into Grimsby... anyone any idea which ships are used?

Usually the ships are either City Of xxxx or xxxx Highway.

We ordered ours mid March and have just received the following.

Your car is at status 39, which means that it has now left the continent and will arrive in the UK shortly. Upon arrival, and once it has cleared customs, it will change to status 40, at which time i'll have a better idea when exactly it will be in Aberdeen.

Again, we could still be a 2-3 weeks from delivery, however I will monitor for updates and let you know as soon as they appear.

I trust this meets with your approval, however please don't hesitate to let me know if you require further assistance at this time.

Only problem is that I'm now not going to be in country to pick it up so that honor is going to be for my wife

So, City of Rome is currently en-route from Emden to Tyne, due in the next couple of hours, so reckon that will be where your car, and hopefully mine as well, will be.

Yep! Picked it up March 1st.

Very happy with it so far.

Slightly jealous of both the speed of the order and the detailed, helpful email from the dealer! Mine is currently at a 50% rate of actually replying to emails I've sent him!

Weser highway was doing the Grimsby/Emden route for mine. It takes less than 24 hrs to cross over

mine is still at the dealers. I’ll be aiming to collect a week today, once it’s paid for and I’m back from a business trip

Slightly tangential, but did you get given a choice of number plate? Specifically asking about the EU flag on it!

No i has no idea it’d even been registered

How strange!
