What name do you call your car?

My friends tried to name my first car, Hyundai Getz, Roxanne... no way, it was just Getz despite being brilliant.

Cordoba never got a name, other than cursed..

Mk1 Octy was known as Donkey, coz it never gave up no matter what i asked it to do.

The Insignia is Gerhardt, The Fat German. Or Inshi7nia depending on whats wrong with it on any given day.

Swmbo 's Citigo is Lexi - happy, friendly, much more fun than you'd think the first time you meet.

We always use the number plate to give it an infrequently used informal name. The latest one's last 3 letters are GZB. So it get's called 'Jizzbucket'.

Citroen Xantia called "Spock" for being the logical thing to do, and having a circulatory system with green liquid in it,

Skoda Octavia called Samantha for her paint colour and registration number.

I'm quite good at naming living entities, from other people's children, to pet dogs and even fictional characters.

However, I have tried to come up with names for my (and at her request, my wife's) vehicles before, but nothing ever stuck.

I occasionally refer to vehicles by the first letter and numbers in their registration, such as Yankee-129, which makes them sound like aircraft callsigns or something and was cool back when CB radios were still a thing.... but that's as good as it ever got. I fully gave up on the idea when a friend started calling his 650cc Cruiser bike embarassing names like Cerberus!!

Furby is what I call mine, think my last 3 Fabia’s were called that.

Last 3 cars before I bought this Fabia were called:

Cassie the welsh focus as the registration was CA58 and registered in Cardiff

Wobble Wagon was my Kia cee’d estate which my wife named as the last 3 letters were WOB, I called it Mia.

Griff the Vauxhall Astra.

"The beemer", the blue one, occasionally "the beast" and after any bills, "that German ******"

I've not thought of anything offensive for the Mini yet, but "Microherse" is an early lead.

My car, or (my) Furby. Dads car was Scoobie, but most Imprezas probably are. Sister inlaw (brothers wife) has a Nissan Juke, which she named it Daisy (from Dukes of Hazard).

There's an old song about that. It was written and performed by Flanders And Swann.

My Mk1 Escort is Bojangles, 'cos it can't half dance when required. My Mk1 Golf cabriolet is Babe, as it's feminine compared to Bojangles, whose a bit of rough, (both are called B@5t4rd when needing work). My Karoq is called the Karoq, as it's white goods to me.

This is interesting.

The only reason i gave the In5h17nia a name was to try and give me a bit more connection to it, as, while it has enough grunt and comfort to be a pleasant place to be, it has no personality.

The octy got a nickname as it was part of the family, and took all that was thrown at it.

It surely can't be as bad as the V*c7r@, which combined total sensory deprivation with strong understeer and wooden front seats?

Never really named my cars but I came up with "Lenny" for my Octavia.........  (bear with me on this one)

The false floor in the boot reminded me of the secret cargo hold in the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars.

It's tenuous I know :D

Only ever drove 1 vectra C, which had an eml on, and it was in Scotland in the winter of 2010/11. When the M8 stopped completely and i had to go rescue my brother in law from Lenzie train station at midnight. I wasnt concentrating on how bad the car was, just keeping it out of the ditches!!
