It lights up pretty good despite the location where it's mounted for sure 😊

Yes it's legal, at least here in Sweden 🙂 You can have as much lights as you want on the highbeam.

I've got buddies that has 10 times the lumens that I have on highbeam 😄

The only thing that's not legal is the "drl:s" or what you may call them that i use. On my ledbar you can choose between white or orange/amber.

What do you mean about the DRL's not being legal there, you're in Sweden, the home of Volvo who invented them in the first place 😲 then almost everywhere else unilaterally adopted them over the years. You'll be telling us next that it's illegal to use another of Volvo's inventions, the seatbelt 🤣

I mean the position lights as they are called on the lightbar is not legal.

There is some regulation that if you have extra position lights they have to sit in a specific position both in width, height and distance between them or else it's not legal. For example it has to be 60cm between each position light which there is not on the lightbar.

The cars are of course legal since they came that way from the factory 😊

If I remember correctly, front camber isn't independently adjustable on each side.

Instead, you can balance the camber between the two sides by moving the front subframe :)

The workshop manager finally called me back. He said the camber can't be tuned on my car...🤨

Since I don't like being fooled. I've taken a look to the official Skoda workshop manual.

Chapter titled "Running gear, axles, steering", Paragraph "2.4 Nominal valus for axel alignment" on page 233 states:

"It is possible to adjust camber by shifting the assembly carrier. Very important: Please note the following: Always replace the screws! After carrying out corrections of steering geometry, inspect position of steering wheel and alter to correct position, if necessary."

For DCC equiped Mk3, camber range is -39' +/- 30'

I called him back this morning. He said trying to tune the camber by shifting the assembly carrier is effectively a solution. But to him, it's quite risky when there's a small difference between FL and FR wheels (which is my case).

Nevertheless he suggested I could swap FL and FR wheels since the FR tyre might be little bit more worn the the FL one dure to roundabouts. Sometimes it solve the problem when a car drags a bit on one side.

I'll have a try...

Additionally, it could help reducing the little groaning that starts appearing on front axle upon cornering at slow speed. I think sawtooth wear begins on the outer threads of my front tyres...

@Ynnoj85I can't believe that you don't find the xenon bulbs good enough. That light view from the car is great though but I'd hate to be driving towards you with those on.

That amount of lumens looks like a night time rally car🚙! Is it even legal?

Personally I find my L&K auto LED full beam headlights perfectly fine. Certainly good enough to pick out the odd bit of nocturnal wildlife we get in our neck of the woods. Normally it's muntjac deer, foxes & badgers.

I appreciate more light is better if you are driving at night on unlit roads all the time but this seems a bit OTT.

The standard Xenons are - simply put - a decent starting point, IMO. Here, you're allowed, as in Sweden, to put what you want on high beam. The rule for us is anything over the ref 100 must be on a switch. I've been fair stunned a couple of times by trucks with the set of lights on the roof plus others... there's serious light on the roads out here. And we're not even that far up north.

Yes, this light is absolutely legal, also in places like Germany. That's a ref 50 light.
The standard Xenons are only 17.5 each, so total at 35. I have 75 on the A2 (2x37,5) and 80 (17.5 + 17.5 + 45) currently on the Superb. That's around 81000 lumens and I'd like more, tucked away under the bumper like here. Heated glass would be nice, too, to stop the slush freezing on the lens.

But "Why?", I hear you ask. Some context: a few months back I came home on a Saturday night, we'd had some training in the warehouse. After realizing just how quiet it was, I timed it: I had around 10 minutes at 80km/h without flicking the lights down as there was no traffic and no streetlights, either. From Jyväskylä to Suonenjoki it's mostly unlit, same from Lahti to Varkaus. That's hours at a time with minimal streetlights and all sorts of interesting animals around; bears, deer, wolves, wolverines, badgers, moose... you want to avoid those at -26C.
Light is life. I counted less than 10 vehicles coming the other way between Tiinantupa and Suonenjoki that trip. That's about a 20 minute drive. If it's cloudy, it's *dark* in a way the UK rarely is any more unless you're in the highlands of Scotland. Road lighting is sparse and the traffic even more so; it's dark in Helsinki at 1530 in winter. And that's the deep south... up here it's even more extreme. I have months where I am using lights all the way to the office and again all the way home, and I'm leaving before 5 to get in by 10 and leaving again at 4. No such thing as too much light IMO.

I've not had any comments on my running lights, we went through "MoT" a while back, too. Was up in Skellefteå a couple of months back for work, just when it hit super warm in May. Was very pleasant indeed! Should have stopped in Haparanda for kötbullar in Ikea but we had a train to catch...that's a very wierd border, with the time change.

Otherwise, small satisfaction of last week-end: nice detailing of the cabin of Moby **** (that's the little nick name of my car, since it looks like the big whit whale 😁). Quite happy to see my Superb sooo clean!

BTW, it gave me the opportunity to compare "Sprayabale Leather conditioner and cleaner" from Chemical guys (which I used on my wife's Q3 a week before) and "Gold Class" from Meguiars' which I used for my Superb.

Finally, I think I prefer Meguiars' regarding the final aspect, since it almost doesn't modify the appearance. Leathers remain quite mat, as if they were coming straight from the assembly line.

Considering now the nourishing and protection effects, errr... I would be very annoyed to try telling which is the more efficient. :AP-Smiles_57:

Some pics of the cleaning

After cleaning with only soapy water : A nice mat aspect, close to its appearance when coming out from assembly line

the steering wheel is a bit too shiny though. I had a better result on my wife's Q3 a week ago... ;D

Moby is pas only the first part of its nick name. The second part has been blanked by the forum protection against nasty words 🙄. But it’s really the name of the white whale from the Herman Melville novel. ;)

Yes it's fine. I only did a lap each day. Completed my 3rd lap today and that is it.

ATE ceramic pads so produce dust, it's just grey and not black. Very visible after my semi wet lap at the ring. I guess the moisture makes it stick to the wheels.

Do you have a pic please? I have so much heard of these pads, I´d be curious to see what the result looks like for ‘real’. TIA.

The front.

@KeteCantek Thanks !

It really looks efficient against dark brake dust. Great !

I also notice that you have Michelin PS5. How are they compared to PS4 (assuming you had PS4 before) ?

I had PS2 on a former Audi A3 Mk2, they were brilliant. I replaced them by PS3, but they were worse than PS2, since they didn’t inherit the PS2 whole structure and rubber. Veru disapointed with PS3.
Fortunately PS4 are better again. This is why I´m asking.

@Bap33 my previous tyre was the Pirelli P7. 6 years old when I replaced it. The PS5 is less harsh over sharp bumps.  Grip, can't really say as I did not compare both side by side on the limit.

I think the PS5 is an improvement over the PS4 but isn't the sporty tyre. PS4S still the performance tyre.

Anyway... I have stuck on my souvenir from the ring to my car. A Nurburgring sticker that I originally planned to stick inside the car but it's now on the boot lid...

+20hp until it falls off.

I shall report back on this....

CTS turbo inlet pipe and hose fitted. Didn’t need the hose but the inlet pipe makes a noticeable increase of intake sound and once tuned will add more power.

Did you fit them both yourself? If so, was it easy? I am always under the impression that there is more space around the turbo inlet in the superb than say a golf R / S3.

Easier job in my mind.

I also changed the inlet and intake hose. I still think it's tight, but it's possible if you take your time.
Hose is probably even better. I have a carbon tube.

Changed the front 12v socket to twin USB power. Biggest difficulty I had was getting the 12v socket out without breaking everything else.

Super easy, 15-20min job. Don’t think there’s more space between the turbo and firewall Superb vs Golf R but it’s a non issue.

It's easy to change out the turbo inlet elbow and pipe.

The Turbo Muffler delete is a lot more tricky cause of it's location.

Likewise the diverter valve cause of the bolt location.

I've got an APR Turbo inlet pipe (carbon), Racingline Turbo Inlet Elbow, 034 Turbo Muffler Delete and GFB Diverter valve.
