How are these fog lights in the fog ? Knowing we seem to have some fog currently

Found a dark country lane to test them out. Very good. No issue with visibility. It’s a lot foggier than the photos make out!

Pics are low beam, fog lights on and off.

IMG_0625.jpegFog lights are not to ‘light your way’ but to improve your vision by not lighting the fog up, headlight should be off in foggy conditions - that aside, the ‘fog’ we get nowadays is nothing compared to 50 odd years ago - it’s just ‘misty’…….and don’t get me started on ‘rear’ fog lights - I’m amazed at how many dorks that normally can’t use indicators but manage to find find one of the most hidden switches the moment there’s a little bit of mist……..!

Ok. I have this obd module

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XGB4873

And a pro license for carscanner (£8)

Set the mqb profile and connect. Bonnet has to be open and ignition on. Engine off.

Select coding and service

IMG_0609.jpeg

Then luggage compartment

IMG_0610.jpeg

Then scroll to the bottom and choose tailgate dataset customisationIMG_0611.jpeg

Then click on choose other and select one of the superbliftback ones.

IMG_0614.jpeg

IMG_0612.png

Then set the parameters you want and choose apply. (The open/close from remote should be selected)

You may need different settings if you have kessy or virtual pedal.

I have seen on another page that you have to hard reset through the long coding options for it to apply but it worked fine for me without this.

I have also noticed this evening that when you go back in to it it reverts to default rather than showing you your current settings.

I have tried this, and the boot will unlock only now with the button, does this mean I will have to do a hard reset? If so how do I perform this?

Opening and Closing via the Key works perfectly

Coding & Service, long coding, 6D. Boot lid, scroll to the bottom, hard reset. PS I accept no liability for your meddling!

Hasn't made any difference, gah

Perhaps try an alternative lift back dataset. And go through and check all the settings again. It’s as if the code for unlock only is displaced to the selection you have made.

Do I understand correctly? You can only open and close the tailgate using the button in the tailgate?

My understanding is that open and close holding the button on the key works. But for the internal button all it does is release the catch. I would assume that the exterior and interior buttons on the tailgate itself work as designed.

@tombee I am at home this afternoon so feel free to pop over and we can have a look if youre free.

I don't have the option for other datasets

Yes everything else is working as expected, with the key operations working now when not before for closing.

Sorry was playing Golf and back at work now

Then you should get a list of datasets

I can use the handle and button in the tailgate to open and close, along with using the Key fob to open and close the tailgate

The button by the gear knob only unlocks and doesn't power the tailgate up or down like it did previously

Yeah I don't have that - choose other version

Oh. How strange. you have a different parameter version. But this screenshot from @igrozan may work.

Click on use user defined bytes at the bottom then enter the same codes and apply.

Phew. I was panicking that I had broken your tailgate!

Autohold set to early and direct accelerator algorithm is very much recommended.

In other news I did 457 miles yesterday and averaged 43mph thanks to the A14 and M6. I did get 57mpg average though.

Nah, would just take it Skoda haha, thats what warranty is for and deny everything haha

Yes I have done those other things, also the start/stop which I didn't think was working but does show on the dash after a short period

That is good, I went to Norwich last week and got 38mpg, even with me being a boy with my new zorst feature haha

I’m really tempted to try the boot release.

Pretty much made every coding modification bar this one.

I have a 2019 L&K so have KESSY and Virtual pedal.

I’m concerned I’ll lose functionality if the incorrect data set and options are selected .

Has anyone with a similar vehicle done the mod that can advise on which options to choose?

Is it facelift as I don’t think the mods work for facelift models.

It would be worth accessing the page and seeing which dataset you have. Theres 3 or 4 versions that I’m aware of with screen shots from this and the boot opening pinned thread that shows the parameters. If it’s not listed on one of those I wouldn’t risk it as it seems that you can’t just revert changes back like you can with other carscanner coding.

Yeah.. mines the FL model

I read the dedicated forum post a little while back.. it sounded fraught with pitfalls.

Hence why I still have to get out of my car to shut the boot!

I’m 99% certain that it’s not possible at all on facelift. So definitely not worth the risk.

I only half read the pinned thread on it hence why I went in head first and managed to wing it first time!
