Ahh nice, yes they are indeed, that’s where my suspension was going to be done but couldn’t wait in the end so went elsewhere a few weekend sooner.

Welcome to stop by if you are at a loose end whilst waiting

Hi. Yours will not be facelift model. That’s from 2019 onwards. With regards to dataset I only know how to see this in carscanner I don’t use vcds

Hi, is carscanner a diagnostic tool?

Why do people post pictures like this! Now my bank account is going to take a hit trying to replicate this!

Would love a full list of mods. It looks awesome!

hehe, sorry for that

mods list:

full dechrom

window tint

black/white badges

double sided tape under number plates

sportline rear diffuser painted gloss black

eibach lowering springs

front splitter

rear spoiler from sportline + gloss black extension

R3 H03 20x9 ET37 wheels with 235/35 tyres

did some bits inside (flat bottom sterring wheel, MIB2,5 upgrade, gloss black trim, changed cluster background to white from sportline/L&K)

waiting for 340/310mm brakes to put on once I have some time

also planning to fit sideskirts and rear bumper side splitters

Fitted a new AC flap actuator this evening.

£16.99 from Amazon. https://amzn.eu/d/0cuh4qx9

20 Minute job once I realised one of the holes is filled with a pin and not an impossibly placed screw. Most awkward bit was getting the flap in the right position to a lot onto the actuator.

Also having the glove box out made me realise how the extra cabling for the Ali express reversing camera is probably what jammed the recirc flap too. So carefully positioned that when boxing everything back up. All DTC cleared.

I’ll have nice cool feet for the summer. Looking forward to winter and having warm feet too!

If you planning on updated pads, leave the rears standard.

I have DS2500 all round and the rears pads squeal as I don’t brake hard enough often enough. I have to brake late and hard. Thinking of swapping rear pads back to standard which will be a real waste but I’m just not using them. The 310mm are just a little too big for the 340mm front.

thanks for the tip @travs but as the car is daily and TDI this upgrade is mainy due to some extra stopping power in critical situations, so I will use regular ATE ceramic pads. I also did OEM bigger brakes on my previsous Octavia MK2 where I used brakes from 3,6 Superb

They're brilliant for low dust - amazing how clean the wheels stayed when running them.

Fully agree! I've made the same mod on my Kodiaq Mk1. And major point, efficiency is the same!

In for full service today at the local independent VAG specialist. Nice to see prices clearly on display. Prices seem fairly reasonable to me.

Whoever invented the headlights on Superb 3 needs shooting.

Thought I’d give it a go without removing arch liner and have ended up with the bulb out but can’t get the new one in.

Now going to run to mates local garage and get it up on the ramp to get the bulbs changed.

Hoping driving with a bulb disconnected won’t do too much damage! Will keep the switch off.

Both sides are the same :( they didn’t even consider a little hatch in the liners either grrr

Tempted to make my own but hopefully the new bulbs will last a good while.

This afternoon the Superb had it's third replacement windscreen, so on the fourth windscreen in total if you include the original. It's now 3 1/2 years old with 120k on it and it spends lots of time on the motorway, so anything that gets thrown up off the road in front generally hits fairly hard at motorway speeds.

Apart from that it's running great, the fuel consumption is starting to get better with the warmer temperatures, oil consumption is negligible, also just filled up the Adblue with roughly 15 litres, enough for about the next 20k miles.

Finally got the headlight bulbs fitted. Shout out to Needham Market branch of Hadleigh Tyre services for the use of their ramp and torx screwdriver to remove the seemingly hundreds of screws holding the arch liners in.

Not a bad job once the liners are out though.

I went for these bulbs on the recommendation from @AL2772

Just under £30 delivered with an 8% discount code offer currently on.

Will get some photos tonight when its dark.

Updated MIB unit to the latest software following this guide:

Only visible change is the Canton logo on the startup screen.

Pretty straightforward once I had found the right software to download and all done in about 40 mins.

Not sure how well It comes out in the photos but the bulbs are brilliant. Nice white colour, great projection and no dazzling. Not been flashed by anyone yet anyway. I don’t have many before pictures but the old bulbs were two different sorts so at least they’re a matched pair!

First pic is with the old bulbs. (Different road though)

Much more clarity on that light beam. Those old bulbs look donald-ducked!

One had started to flicker and gone very yellow. That one looked newer and was an osram xenarc. The other was a Phillips. I wonder if one was original?

Just had a look at the old bulbs. The osram was manufactured march 2016 and the Phillips Jan 2017. Hopefully the LED ones will last as long!

I'm loving the superbs hard drive, I'm an old school cd man and I've loaded 40 plus albums so far and still loads of space on the drive, loads of albums and none of the clutter, happy days.

Although no biggy for that price if they only last half the time. Aside from the degree in engineering and windtunnel facilities needed to change a headlight bulb.

Rear pads changed. I’d had Ferodo DS2500 front and rear but developed a squeal from the rear which I suspect is because I don’t brake hard enough to keep them clean.

Heavy braking sessions would remove it but it would soon come back.

Basically, unless you’re driving hard, the rear brakes are a very heathy size compared to the front so the theory is that moving back to standard rear pads will clear it. Pads are Brembo OE spec, VCDS used, tools bought, bled them after, hoping job’s a goodun.
