They certainly go down quicker 🤪

Hi @MarioVrs - car looks fantastic.

Genuinely not trying to worry you unduly, but FYI they've done the same with some of our city centre multi-storeys over the last week. Last Friday night some scrote(s) broke into each of the cars in the nearest one to me, looking for cash. :@ NCP view of the world was (as you would expect) "tough - your risk". Might be completely different for you (looking at your location on your profile) but worth considering.

Thank you buddy, no not at all i know these things happen, my bit of reassurance is that there is like 6-7 cameras on each floor + i have dash cam with motion sensor that shoots in 4k so if anything happens and authority turns blind eye then I'll look for the fooker myself lol i live in Jersey these things are fairly rare occurrence but should they happen its an island of 9x5 and you it won't be that hard to find them 😎

Genuine apologies if I spooked you unnecessarily, but it's a **** show  when it happens to you (its happened twice now to me). If I can keep it from happening to someone else, job jobbed.:)

Just when you think humanity can't sink to lower levels.  Unfortunately Darwin was wrong, if natural selection was legit then all these scrotes would be statistics on the news...

Just seen reports of some idiot being caught on CCTV licking his hands and then gripping car doors.  He apparently went down a whole street doing this.  WTF?!?!

Really??? Jeez ...think people really do deserve this virus, some countries actually charge people with manslaughter in cases like these even if they prove to be negative...

Absolutely not my friend i really appreciate it. I'm very particular as to where i park my car. Jersey is generally good with things like these so fingers crossed i won't have nasty surprise next time I'll see the car...

And if the worst happens you can always enlist the help of Bergerac...

Jersey has what 35 miles of roads and 35mph speed limit and you have a VRS? How much time can you save in Jersey with a VRS then? 🤣

Started it. Fired up straight away after having sat untouched for three weeks. 3.5-year-old battery, so that's encouraging.

Today, I was multi-tasking: I have to drive to Sainsbury's to do a "click and collect". First, I have to be able to see out of my windscreen, which is covered in Sahara dust spots. So, my hour of exercise this morning consisted of carrying heavy buckets of water to the car, and much bending and stretching followed by a quick lap around the park.

This early, there were just the serious joggers out: a few women jogging past me and many men running fast, all keeping a good distance away. That's encouraging, because I read that Brockwell Park has been closed due to 3,000 people sunbathing yesterday. WTF?

Stuck the trickle charger on (Itek - its fine) just in case. Was 11.9V now 12.3V according to OBDEleven. Then gave the summer wheels another layer of wax pending their fitting this week.

Now my car is in its own quarantine, I bought it a car cover to say sorry. I wouldn't normally entertain such a thing because of the risk of scratching, but given it will sit unattended I decided it was the lesser of many evils.

I got mine delivered from car covers factory - the premium edition as they call it. https://www.carcoversfactory.co.uk/car-covers/category/2017/skoda/superb/all-body-types. Way too early for a proper review, but initial thoughts are:

- it was marked as coming from Texas, but ordered on Friday evening and arrived via FedEx yesterday. Pretty good.

- it's not heavy, and putting it on single-handed is not a problem. Having said that, it looks and feels robust.

- it comes with a bag for storage when not in use, but I suspect it will be the devil's own job to get it to fit in there.

- it fits well on the car, tucking under the bumpers front and back and covering all but the bottom couple of inches of the wheels. The corners are elasticated at the bottom to help this. They claim it is custom built for the Superb but I call BS as the instructions explain how to cut a slot for the aerial - of course this is not needed with the stubby aerials on our cars.

- it has an integral strap which holds it together (it's soft plastic, adjustable and runs under the centre of the bottom of the car with a fastening clip) but there are no wheel straps so we will have to see how it manages any strong winds. I may cut slots and use straps on the wheels - we will see.

- As an extra there is also a metal rope strap which follows the same path and has a small padlock to secure it. I haven't put it on yet so can't comment on how good it is.

- I'm still worried about whether it will scratch the paint, but the side that touches the paint is soft fleece, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Today I received two new products to me: bilt hamber's medium clay (had stupidly gotten some overspray from a DIY job on the car and was advised by someone on briskoda to try that) and double speed wax. Had already washed the superb so I clayed it, gave it a go with autoglym's super resin polish and finally the wax. What can I say, it looks better than new! Like glass. There were a few naysayers on Amazon about the wax, but either they didn't prep the car properly or they applied too much. Brilliant product, and I can't wait to see the water repellency at work. Also, I used next to nothing so it will last and last. Had previously ceramic coated the car with qtechniq stuff but, while it looked amazing for some time, it didn't last long and was over 4x the price of the wax for a single application. Sure, I'll have to reapply the wax every few months, but it's so cheap per application that it's mostly down to the time it'll take. If the weather permits I'll get some shots of it tomorrow.

Charged the battery today and updated the Sat Nav maps to latest edition.

So happy to work out that last one with help of eldest son. (Linux makes things awkward).

Treated the leather seats to a clean and condition and "Pledged" the binnacle and Columbus screen.

Looks a treat inside. Alas outside is becoming sandblown so will need a third wash without having turned a wheel...

Here are a couple of photos of the finished product. I had also applied a stainless steel boot sill protector but forgot to mention. Up close in the photos the car may look dirty but it's because it's so shinny and reflecting everything around it. It just looks awesome like this but one thing is clear: those 16" wheels are... blah...  I need something a little bigger and better looking but I don't want to spend a lot on it though. Superskoda have these nice looking 18" with tires on a special deal for only 800€, I'm so tempted !!! If only I could get rid of mine for a fair price I would definitely go for those.

Decided to put some extensions on :)

Again, an AliExpress special.

They feel solid.

I've always been sceptical of stick on shifter extensions, due to past experience, but I heard good reviews about this one.
It's a solid press even pressing up top of the shifter👍
It's made of aluminum too, so its a good feel too.

Spent 2 days machine polishing my Sportline and then coated it with 2 coats of Gyeon Can Coat. Looks amazing but I am broken!

I shall be repaying my wife for the time I’ve spent doing it for many years, I fear!

It’s come up well. One of the advantages of the colour is that it is not too demanding. Having had a black magic Octavia VRS, I know both how stunning the colour can look but also how difficult it is to maintain!

The birds targeted the car yesterday, plus a healthy coating of dust meant time for a clean. Used TW Sealant Wax, the car has a ceramic coating so comes up like new. Door jams and engine compartment also cleaned up. That feels better.

My bad, it's about 35 mile of coastal roads isn't it! Doh.... The Mario    Vrs confused me - easily done.

Put mine on CV-19 life support ...
