Help Help cant find a Felicia 1999 gearbox in Southwest ?any advice  

What is wrong with the existing gearbox?  Could this be repaired by a local gearbox specialist? I've just used a great one  to rebuild the gearbox on mrs bigjohn's Panda - Cost about £600 inc all bearings, seals, clutch (everything inside the bellhousing inc fork) and labour. 

 

There seem to be some used gearboxes shown on ebay.

ball bearing whizzed around ripped through a lot of cogs and damage casing it U/S

Still might be worth asking a gearbox specialist though - the one I used had a room full of gearbox bits including cases.  Or they might know where to get one from.

 

I used Wallis Engineering in Hull.

Think I will have to phone around breakers. 1.6 gearboxes seem to be rocking horse ****.

 

Think from reading other threads a 1.3 goes on changing a few studs for nut and bolts?

This car design was from the time when Skoda was being merged into VAG

 

The felicia was still based on old Skoda bits but the 1.6 engine was a VW one.
