It would be harsh to let Bottas go for 1 crash on a day when HAM LEC both crashed too and ever VER spun off.

Keep up @shyVRS245 😉

Sorry about that, must have missed those 2 posts. In my defence had only 4 hours sleep:o yesterday so very busy and didn't even see the news until this morning.:D

Any predictions for Hungary next Sunday? Usually a boring follow the leader type track unless it rains again. Qualifying almost as important as Monaco, could suit Max again.

WRONG WORD

Unless it rains, the Hunboringring will be hot and dull again.

Given the way Verstappen is gaining on the leader, do we think Mercedes will impose team orders from now on if needed?

I don't  think Mercedes will panic just yet. Of the two races that they haven't won this season one was a car issue with overheating and the other was a total lottery with the weather.

Got back late last night, so I whizzed through the recording of the race. Just been looking at a bit more detail and I noticed that two of the four Renault engined cars had engine issues and Hulkenberg binned it. Today one of the Renault trucks collided with a crash barrier and crashed on the way to the hungaroring. The driver is in hospital, but OK according to the team. Well at least the engine didn't let go.

Two Honda powered cars on the podium for the first time since 1988. Think we remember the two drivers back then.:D

Really?

How about? - Portugal 92  - Berger P2 Senna P3 driving McLaren-Honda V12s.

Probably more recent ones as well.

They said this on CH4 after the race but they didn't check their facts clearly.:tongueout:

5 likely suspects for pole position. Whoever gets it will be race favourite for sure.

Wisely ruling out Gasly then.:D

Bien sur.  All of the others can pull a mega lap out on some Saturdays of the year. Young Pierre has never been close to Max so I think it unlikely that he would go P1.

It's interesting. The Ferrari goes really well in the heat. The Mercedes is clearly best on slow corners of which there are many. And Max is on stunning form. Too close to call.

Ricciardo being sued for £10 million by former Manager who claims in the High Court in London they had an agreement that he would have a 20% share of future deals including the Renault 2 year deal which he states is worth £20 million per year to Daniel. The Australian has a Holding company in the Virgin Islands (to avoid tax) where Renault deposit his wages. His defence lawyers have until 31/07/2019 to respond.

Renault accept introducing new C spec engine after the summer break will mean they and McLaren will have to start from the back of the grid in Spa and possibly Monza due to exceeding the 3 engines for a season per car rule leading to penalties.

A rubbish rule that achieves little if Renault and Honda are still planning 4 or more engine specs during the year. Honda will have spec 4 at Monza and probably a 5th later on. So much for cost saving that the rule is aimed at. No doubt next year Mercedes and Ferrari will join in this new way of spending 10s of extra millions.

The FIA should ban them from racing further enhanced engines beyond the 3rd spec brought out.

Didn't learn much from the wet FP1 and FP2 sessions today. Red Bull 1/2 and Mercedes 3/4.:wondering:

Based on the whole day though Hamilton was fastest on dry tyres, Bottas fastest on inters.

The afternoon session was a complete waste of time mind you, too wet for slicks too dry for inters.

Tomorrow should be good.

FP3 very close only one tenth between Lewis, Max and Seb with a low 1 minute 16 second lap.:)

Hungary pole goes to Max (his first in F1) then Bottas and Hamilton third.

One Renault out in Q1, the other one out in Q2. Both Mclaren Renault engined cars through to Q3. 🤔

Ricciardo not happy in Q3 said over the radio "I could kill someone". Perhaps he should have stayed at Red Bull?
