Soon we'll find out that the car has been optimised around Max driving style and no-one else can manage it. Shades of Schumacher, when Benetton prioritised his requirements, no-one could regularly drive the other car fast. And they weren't slow guys either. Patrese, Lehto, Verstappen, Herbert. None of them were mugs. And yes, I do know Johnny won in it twice - but that was only after Damon and Michael had taken each other out yet again.

Red Bull clearing out. Perhaps realising that they have found their star for the next 5-10 years so no longer need to invest in a driver development programme, and can pay Max's extreme wage demands as well.

And welcome Meg!

They need to find someone who drives in the same manner as Max so the settings will be very similar. Otherwise, it doesn't matter how good they are they won't get he best from the car.

Looking beyond next year, Red Bull look desperate for future drivers.

Max will almost certainly be off to one of the big 2 teams for 2021 and RBR will then have to hire drivers from outside their own stable, if none of their current guys are up to it.

As far as Juniors go, they've just snatched Patricio O'Ward from Indycar, but even if he develops as they hope he'd only be ready for a STR place in 2021.

Lucas Auer too is in Super Formula right now and could be a prospect, but none of their other juniors would expect to be in F1 in 18 months time.

It looks like they may have 4 or 5 guys who could slot in at STR but no-one for the works team? That's the chance Alex Albon can grab if he's up for it.

I think they'll break with their tradition and bring someone in. They tried to get Norris, and considered both him and Ocon for this year when they knew Daniel was off to Renault.

KERS Hybrid technology has been used in F1 since 2009 so it is Indy Car Racing that is copying F1 only it will take them 13 years to implement this new tech starting in 2022. You really should have read the entire article.:whew:

Yeah but he's from OZ. Hi tech in the top local racing series means importing bodyshells from Opel / Ford USA and slapping huge V8's in them.

Barely even 20th century :D

Even AMG ditched the old 6.2 LITRE V8 engines for efficient 4.0 LITRE TWIN TURBO petrol engines a few years ago to save the Planet.:o

I think BMW had 1400 in qually, and Honda just didn't know. The tale goes that their dyno only went up to 1000bhp and it passed that at about only 9000rpm.

Honda also got round the pop off valve rules limiting the boost to 4 bar then 2.5 the next year by putting so much boost into the engine the pop off valve couldn't effectively dump it all.

And to think that BMW used second hand high mileage cylinder blocks as a basis!

I quite like the Ausie Supercars. I even recognise some of the circuits before they say when I catch it flicking around the channels. I say recognise, I know I've seen the circut before, maybe not the name :D

Then again knowing me I could be watching the same race over and over on a repeat free to air channel. Jamie Wincup seems to be in the same car :)

Remember the time when the 4WD Nissan was wiping the floor with those big, heavy, rear wheel drive Aussie saloons so they banned anything clever with 4WD. Seems to be the Aussie way KISS keep it simple stupid.:D

Was it that they could cope with the huge boost better than a newly cast one?

And then the RS500 mopped up instead over there. **** Johnson's Aussie Ford's were so quick, Mike Smith imported a couple and Rob Gravett won the BTCC in it, beating all the Rouse cars and slower ones.

I like Aussie V8's too. I just find our OZ correspondent on here a complete  bore, but someone else quoting him got around my block.😄

D*CK Johnson's name auto corrected to F*CK Johnson, but the site still censored it after I corrected his name.😂😂😂

Back on topic (unusual for me) next season will see a record 22 races including the new events in Vietnam and the Netherlands. The Mexico grand prix has extended their contract until 2022 with the 2020 race being named the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Well, there was one site I was on that sent D1ck (which is a male name remember) and **** (as in, say, Hitchc0ck) to moderation, but allowed Pen15; our solution followed logically.

Oh and Charlie Oscar Charlie Kilo is a type of valve, and a syllable in some names, which is how it was being used here.

Yes, a couple of hundred thousand km trundling up and down the autobahns releived them of the forthcoming stresses.
