Yeah I know that. The Mercs were what? 4th and 6th in Q2? Likely to lose places off the line too?

Will Lewis do a James Bond and slay the bad guys in front as there is an amusing lack of From Russia With Love between the Ferrari team mates ignoring team orders. They may have to make a problem for Seb at his pit stop and forget to bring 4 tyres out to give him a 10 second delay.:tongueout:

There will be a bad atmosphere in the Ferrari garage, which the Management have created. The 'walls' will go up in the garage and it will bad for the 'team' in the long term.

Seb can see the exit writing on the garage wall yet refuses to read it.:D

Webber's favourite number but Seb not sure what that means. Malaysia 2012 and 2013 again. History has a habit of repeating itself.;)

Hamilton leading and going long. Now Seb retires very Karma.:tongueout:Virtual safety car giving Lewis a free pit stop, looking good for James Bond win ha ha.:)

spelling mistake

Hamilton 26 points today. On the radio they said he needs to leave the next race in Mexico with a 79 point lead, today he has a 73 point lead.

EDIT: The next race is Suzuka, not Mexico.

Edited by moley

Lewis now 73 points clear with 5 races left. 9th win of the season for him and 11th win for Mercedes.

Suzuka in Japan in 2 weeks time then Mexico. He actually only needs 78 point lead after Mexico due to his superior win ratio on count back.:)

Ferrari shot themselves in the foot today, if Leclerc had been allowed to stay in front he might have won. There will be a frosty atmosphere in the red teams motorhome.

Like the Postman, James Bond aka Lewis Hamilton always delivers. Honey Badger out but the Poacher pounced.:D

Win for the safety car dictated the race.

Fortunately World Superbikes were on and seeing Jonny Rea race and then  take 5th World championship.

F1 still needs rule changes to become less of a procession.

The Renault engined McLaren's finished ahead of the Renault engined Renault's. It looks like Renault will be the only team with their own engines with no other customers from 2021.

Agree with Red Bull going to Honda and McLaren rejoining Mercedes in 2021 hard to see who wants to be a Renault customer behind Ferrari, Mercedes and Honda power.

Leclerc needs to shut up and drive instead of whingeing. Starting to sound like Nico Rosberg on the radio, or more recently Kubica - claiming Georges car was faster (for several months, until Williams swapped them, and guess what, Russell still beat him). Vettel had him beat today and Charles chucked his toys out.

It took Nico 3 years to figure out that beating Hamilton in qually wasnt a title winning strategy, you need effective race set ups as well to do that. Vettel had better race pace here but bad luck.

So Rea and Marquez winning titles every single year isn't as predictable as Mercedes doing it?

When was Leclerc in front? At no time after the first corner. He knew it would happen when interviewed after qualifying. Pole is a poisoned chalice on this circuit.

Chuckling at the non-specialist media outrage. "Vettel ignores team orders"

Rather like Leclerc has done at recent events too, notably refusing to tow Vettel in qually a few times.

Indeed Charles was on the naughty step in Monza on Saturday but after managing to hold off Hamilton, the Ferrari boss said "OK kid, you are forgiven".

You can see why Vettel is reluctant to obey the pitwall, when his teammate doesnt either but then publicly plays the injured party at every opportunity

Agree to a point... however, Marquez would probably win on a lesser bike, he simply rides the wheels off the Honda, even on so called non-Honda tracks. Rea had to really stick at it this year with a lower rev limit  to try to reduce his advantage and really struggled  against a powerful Ducati/ Bautista combo....for the first 11 races. Unfortunately Bautista has chucked it down the track and with it his title  chances, which Rea wrapped up this weekend, winning a record 5th WSB.

Part of the problem is that Vettel has 'history' ie multi 21 etc. As Ferrari tie themselves up in internal politics Mercedes disappear into the distance.

I see Marquez and Rea winning on machinery specifically developed  to their personal tastes, much like Schumacher did. So what if other Honda, Kwacker, or Ferrari pilots cant manage the same performances? Each company is perfectly happy to have just 1 invincible megastar.

As for Kawasaki being pegged back, what about Mercedes? All of the major F1 rule changes since 2014 have been expressly designed to peg back the top team & give the others more of a chance.

But its not a one way street. leclerc has either ignored (Bahrain/Monza etc) or publicly moaned about team orders all year.
