Hulk told the stewards he missed his braking point at the first chicane and went up the escape road because "he was too busy checking his mirrors".

and they bought it!

Even after he left the escape road and slowed down to let the pack pass. 🤔

Channel4 F1 pundit Billy Monger wins Pau Grand Prix!   Amazing.     What a great kid he is. What a comeback he's making.

Wasn't safe to rejoin the track, unlike Seb in Canada on Lewis almost squeezing him into the wall. Got to like the inconsistency of rule makers in F1. No wonder they call it the CIRCUS.:thinking:Since when is having all 4 wheels off the tarmac not exceeding track limits, except when it's a Ferrari at Monza.

In Ye Olden Dayes Ferrari were allegedly running bigger engines at Monza but the scrutineers didn't notice. Not to mention getting away with outrageous jump starts.

Mind you Lotus, Brabham, Mclaren, Tyrrell etc used to bend the rules everywhere as well (or just ignore them to be honest) .

As expected, and predicted by Toto about 6 weeks ago... 2 tracks where the Reds are just too fast on the straight.

Well done all at Ferrari.

Another enjoyable race.

But what on earth was Vettel thinking???

He was thinking 'I might be getting the sack soon'

Good race and Leclerc has toughened up since Verstappen forced him off of the track in Austria. Slightly dubious decisions by the stewards, but I doubt if they wanted to wake up with a horses head in the bed. Hamilton didn't whinge or moan about it after the race, but there again he only dropped two points to Bottas with another race over.

Is that why F1 drivers don't shave?;)

After being out qualified for the 7th consecutive time at Monza you might say Seb is a shadow of his former self.

FInally, HAAS & RICH ENERGY divorce made official:

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/145884/haas-and-title-sponsor-rich-energy-terminate-deal

That was briefly quite entertaining around Silverstone. Oh well, have to wait for the next fly-by-night cowboys to rock up.

F1 has been attracting them for so long. Anyone remember Andrea Moda Formula, or LIFE.

Or what about the scammer Nigerian prince who became a co-owner of Arrows during the winter of 98/99?

Shame when they can't even afford a whole season of F1 sponsorship. Any publicity is considered good even if your company is portrayed in a negative manner, very strange this internet era.

I assumed it was some dodgy internet energy company, this dodgy internet era when I can't even be faffed to lookup sponsors :) Blind to it all really.

I thought the qualifiying was being sponsorred by the slow mo crew till I twigged what was going on... hahahah excellent.

The1min window I had to surmise the whole thing to SWMBO ended with Seb, Q&A began and I lost the rest of my time slot... how did he spin, hy did he spin, why did he hit the other car, how much is he paid?

Got to say if he was a rookie, we'd be all over him surely?

Mabe grojean has a shot at something, or is it the alonso sugar rumor ?

Who knows, perhps he brings a lot of value, sponsor wise, seb this is, to the team. As DC said, he's not going to get any faster.

Seb Vettel is finished. I said to myself last year that he would never win a world championship ever again and since then it has went from bad to worse.

loves to spin that ferrari of his

You forgot to add the caveat when he is not crashing into someone to slow himself down. Seems to have forgotten either where the brake pedal is or how to use it.:whew:

If it wasn't for team orders early in the season, Charles would be some way ahead of him in the standings too.

This season is turning into a repeat of his last year at RBR - being burned off by the new boy.

Will he stick it out for another year or retire at the end of this one?

I cant see him going to RBR and getting mashed by Max and who else would he drive for?

There may be a free seat at Alfa Romeo that the pointy German could pay for...

Wonder if any truth in DC's comments about Lewis replacing Seb at Ferrari next season. What a dream team that would be if Hamilton is looking for a new challenge or simply a clever way to force Mercedes to increase his pay until he himself retires after beating Schueys 7 world titles.

???

So the FIA software designed to detect traction control activated, but Honda say it wasn't because traction control was in operation.

Oh! Thats completely OK  then Mr Tanabe-san.

We believe you.

Other than excessive wheel slip - by planting your foot at the start of the race when traction control would be handy - or perhaps pressing the accelerator when the driven wheels are off the ground are there any other occasions where you would have to protect the engine from over-revving ?

Clutch suddenly activating ?

Kubica and Williams to split at the end of the season

I wonder if Williams would be interested in a pointy German pay driver?

Not really a surprise the arm injury must have affected him more than the team expected. Mercedes power so Vettel would be a good fit but not sure he would take such a massive pay cut and effectively start in the slowest car on the grid. More likely Hulkenberg will end up there.🐌

Haas have confirmed the same drivers for next year, Grosjean must have something on Gunther Steiner to be able to keep his drive
