That's over a year at my current post rate! I think I'll have to abandon the "quality over quantity" approach that has characterized my posts to date , and start sharing Friday Jokes, one per post.

I don't think either quality or quantity are important.

:)

neither do i, i just love post whoring :D

For me, Mattijs it was simple maths. I pay for my own fuel, but I get a car allowance. I got nearly

Octy vrs 24.7 mpg

Furby vrs 48.2 mpg

.

You either wear lead-lined shoes for driving, or you have a leak. I'd have to thrash mine mercilessly to get Fuel consumption figures that bad.

Three quarter of the journey is stop and start race between traffic lights.

It's dog eat dog especially with all the stupid xmas shoppers in their Senics.

For some reason the counters on my Octy vRS reset this morning - I had covered about 3300 miles since last resetting, at an average of 28.9mpg.

But Today's 260 mile trip gave an average of 38mpg, average speed 51mph.

I'm impressed! :D

Day 2 of ownership

Distance - 33mile along M4 this afternoon

Average Speed - 71mpg

Average MPG - 40.7

Dealer said on day of purchase that performance and fuel consumption will improve once run in after 1000 miles, let see :)

Chappers, were you wearing your tweed flat-cap while getting that average ;)

The total trip memory 2 resets after up to 100 hrs travelling time, 10,000km distance and 1000 litres of fuel consumed.

Ah.. I remember reading that in the manual, now that you mention it. Probably 100 hours as my average speed was in the 30s.

I managed a new record yesterday - 10 mile trip at average 16mph, 11.8 mpg

Bloody Bradford traffic!

Since having the car chipped I'm now averaging 21.3 mpg

Enjoying every last drop of fuel though! :D

What alot of people dont realise is that you have to reset the mpg before setting off, if you dont the mpg starts from zero and will leave you thinking it only does 25mpg.

How come i only get around 26 on average (ish!) :-) runs and 18 when a beemer driver pi$$es me off

Generally speaking the lower it goes the more fun you're having.

who cares about good fuel figures?

 Too Right Simon, The only time mine tops 30 is when the missus has been driving it

40 mpg

40 mpg

 ...............please press your right foot against the accelerator pedal and all that 40 mpg nonsense will disappear immediately !!

The fuel light came on mine today after 240 miles

Hey guys, it all depends on how heavy ya foot is aint it????? using Optimax or Ulti will give greater mpg but u cant beat cruise control for max distance as it controls the fuel better than ya foot!

I disagree. Have been driving 132 miles a day (about 116 of those on Kruise) for the last couple of weeks and although I am much more relaxed and maintain an even speed (uphill or downhill) thoughout my journey, the MPG i get is lower than I get if I maintain a 'granny' discipline on the same journey.

I average around 30 mpg, less if i go for it, but on the whole around 30, which i am very happy with :)

Average 29.

36 On A Long Motorway Run.

As Low As 22 On An A-road Thrash.

Oh and GAFF 240 is about what I get red-lighted on too.

I use Optimax.

I also wear lead shoes.

LOL
