Clearly not a Skoda ... but the end of my waiting for a new car journey is over!

  • So - Finally my L&K 2.0 TDI 4x4 DSG ordered 22 July has a build date confirmed.... dealer estimates early to mid December Handover.... 6 weeks later than planned..

  • Finally, picked mine up today. I have to say lads that it's well worth the wait, drives like a dream. At the moment there are no squeaks or rattles or grinding noises and everything works. The de

Interesting debate around value and monthly payments. I came at buying a new car with a set deposit and a fixed monthly, plus a view of the type and spec of car I wanted.

Having looked at all of the below it came down to two key things:

1. Amount being financed

2. APR

I looked at Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Merc GLC and Jag F-Pace. All but F-Pace were too small.

Q7, XC90 and GLE were too expensive ... not because of the retail price but because they depreciated so much ... +£30k

Also worth noting that adding options don't add as much to the GFV as you might think so going for a high spec might be better than a lower spec with options even if the retail works out cheaper.

So where did the kodiaq and Skoda come in ... well ... lower depreciation than top Mark yet similar build quality in many respects. RS was well spec'd and while I added options that I wanted, they cost less than adding those options to the models above. The APR I got was also lower than the majority of brands mentioned above.

For me, the budget I had, the spec I wanted, the kodiaq RS represents great value when up against comparable vehicles.

As a side note, I even looked at Seat, Peugeot, Kia, etc. and while even lower retail prices their residuals fell off a cliff meaning I was going to pay the same or, in some cases, more than those mention above.

To get back on topic ...

Ordered Kodiaq RS 8th Dec

Confirmed build week #6 (3rd Fed)

Target delivery date 1st March

As quoted just 12 weeks from order to delivery (estimated). We shall see.

Lived upto your Username with an 8 month wait.

Mine is going to be delivered Monday

About time! Just heard from my dealer that the car has arrived.

Unfortunately I’m still not going to get it until 1st week in January, as it needs adaptations fitted and the fitters are fully booked until then.

Happy it has finally arrived though.

Electronic under ring and steering aid on wheel plus push brake.

Just had a nice chat online to be advised that , at last, my Kodiaq is on its way to the port of exit! TFFT. Ordered 12th August with an initial expected delivery of 30th November. Strangely though when my dealer contacted me last week he advised that the car wasn't expected to be built until next week? Any way hopefully it wont be much longer!

Latest update, she's on the 'City of St. Petersburg' should be docking in Grimsby around 1600 the 28th. So with a bit of luck I might get her in a couple of weeks!

We have a confirmed build week of w/c 6th Jan. Ordered mid October.

2.0 TSI L&K

Should we expect 3-6 weeks from build to collection?

Mine was built week 46 (w/c 11th Nov), picked it up on 30th November

Picking my 190 L& K up tomorrow as has to be registered by end of year , ordered 29th July .

That sounds realistic. Mine (same spec and engine) was built in early December and landed in Grimsby on Christmas Eve. It's being delivered to me on the 13th as I'm away the week before when it would be available.

It’s been a long wait but worth it , picked up today 190 TDi l&k dsg in business grey .

lovely looking motor...

congratulations!

Oh yes , towbar , virtual pedal for rear door , heated steering wheel , adaptive cruise control , trailer assist with area view , virtual cockpit , driver assistance pack , rear seat release . Running boards fitted by dealer .

Interesting to see the dealer managed to modify the front mudflaps to make them fit in conjunction with the running boards.

Was surprised to see them on but haven’t looked to see if modified yet , but look a good fit .

Would be good if you get the chance to see if they've been modified.

I had to modify mine to get them to fit...
