New Skoda Satnav SD Card says 'Please insert a data medium with valid navigation data'

Featured Replies

2013 Octavia 3 with Amundsen won't accept new original Skoda SD Card with 2019 nav data.. Please insert a data medium with valid navigation data

why?!

Is the SD card the correct one for a MIB1 Amundsen (which is what you have in a 2013 Octavia III), or is it the SD card for a MIB2 Amundsen?

The MIB1 Amundsen expects an SD card with part number starting 5E0, the MIB2 Amundsen expects an SD card with part number starting 5L0.

Doh... it's a 5L0 though was told it was for a MIB1! (Skoda said VIN was fitted with Amundsen but actual unit has no model name on the display unit and has a double SD unit in the glove box.. is this correct?)

If I overwrite the data on the MIB2 card with a MIB1 update will the Skoda security features on the card be compatible?

Thanks

Yes, that's exactly what I'm using in my MIB1 Amundsen at the moment B)

👍 thanks for your wisdom!!

(I assume the hardware config I described is correct? Can't find anything that actually says Amundsen anywhere..)

If you have sat nav you have either Amundsen or Columbus. If you need the SD card inserted for sat nav to work you have Amundsen.

Which of the 2 slots have you put the SD Card into ?

Hi Thanks for your interest.. I had tried both slots with same result but having realised I had acquired a MIB2 card I have downloaded the update for my car (VIN) from Skoda and followed the instructions from briskoda.net/forums/topic/402860-amundsen-satnav-update/?tab=comments#comment-4647344 and all is good now

Thanks to all who replied for your help
