i picked up a 4lb lump of featherblade today from my butcher... tied and all for me, itll get seared in mushroom and onion pan juices then popped in the oven at 130deg in a cast iron pot and lid on for about 6hrs sitting on a couple of carrots and parsnips to hold it up off the bottom.. it will disintegrate on contact with the air when it comes out. and the best part is i only pay the same as stewing beef, so about 22e where if it was topside or another "more desirable" cut that size piece could be near 40 or 50 quid..

ohhhh i cant wait to put it on!

Washed down with a Jam Shed Shiraz (don't judge - it was a present!)

Picked up a "catering pack" of Stewing steak from Costco today. Portioned up into 6 x  zip lock bags & now in freezer.

I feel some home made steak, mushroom & Guinness pies coming on.

Just got to get some pastry.

Aiming for later this week for the first batch of 4/6 pies.

For tonight some it will be Pork Chops (delayed from the other night) with roasties etc. Pics hopefully to follow.

Pic of the aforementioned Pork Chops with some sprouting Broccoli, air fryer spuds & onion & garlic gravy. Fruity IPA to wash it down.

A-a-at last  ................

I have a hyped up cat on 2 x steroid tabs a day who is acting just like that dog. Problem is he can only eat a special cat food which he's very bored of. He's also very agile & has already come a cropper leaping up onto the cooker hob & singed his fur & whiskers 🐈- not that he's got much hair atm. He has taken on the visual appearance & mannerisms' of a Gremlin crossed with Golam & a hairless Egyptian cat, poor old thing.

No beer tonight as I have to concentrate on my tiling skills. Measure 20 times & cut once.

Currently I'm trying to lay 3m2 of Metro tiles in our kitchen (backsplash) & cut them in around a myriad of light & plug sockets. Took me hours just to set out the first row reasonably symmetrical without leaving some tiny slivers to cut. This is gonna take a while.

Unless it's Lurpak (Can't stand the stuff - it's got to be good lightly salted Irish butter for me).
